Friday, March 1

BFPD responded to a report of carbon monoxide in a resident on Meining Road. The crew did not find any levels of carbon monoxide in the home. Larimer County Sheriff Officer also responded due to the frequency of calls.

Saturday, March 2

BFPD responded to a medical call for a possible broken hip on Megan Circle. The crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Sunday, March 3

BFPD responded to a medical call on S. Highway 287. The patient was transported.

Monday, March 4

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical call. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

BFPD responded to a medical call for chest pain on Mountain Ave. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, March 5

BFPD responded to a medical call on Welch Ave. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with patient care for breathing problems. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of a gas leak in a residence on Victoria St. The crew did not find any elevated levels of carbon monoxide in the home.

Wednesday, March 6

BFPD responded to a report of an activated smoke detector on Nebraska Ave. The crew found a malfunctioning detector and recommended the unit be replaced.

Thursday, March 7

BFPD responded to a report of carbon monoxide in a residence on Meining Road. The crew did not find elevated levels of CO in the home.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Shelby Drive for a person with chest pain. The patient was transported.

Friday, March 8

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. The call was cancelled while the crew was enroute.

Saturday, March 9

BFPD responded to an activated life alert on Blue Mountain Ave. The responsible party had accidentally activated the alert.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person with breathing problems on West County Road 6. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a person with breathing problems on Sioux Dr. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call for breathing problems on Sixth St. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Sunday, March 10

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near the intersection of N. CR 23 and West CR 8E. A small 10’by 10’ smoldering pile was found in a field. This was a controlled burn and the crew did not feel this burn was a threat and it was being monitored.

Monday, March 11

BFPD responded to a fire alarm at the United Medical Center of Berthoud. This was a false alarm caused by a power failure.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for chest pain on W. County Road 6. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of a grass/wildland fire near the intersection of W. County Road 8 and N. County Road 23. The reported fire was from a still smoldering fire from a permitted burn earlier in the day. The smoldering was contained and did not pose a threat to the nearby area. The property owner was asked to verify when the fire was out.

Tuesday, March 12

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. The crew was unable to locate an accident.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Third St. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a stroke on Iowa Ave. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted Berthoud Police with a medical call on Fourth St. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for knee pain on Third St. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, March 13

BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm at Turner Middle School. This was a false alarm caused by a ball hitting the pull station activator. The crew investigated the school and found no hazards. The system was reset and the crew then cleared the scene.

BFPD assisted a person who walked into Station 1 with symptoms of a heart attack. TVEMS arrived and assessed the patient who was then transported.

Thursday, March 14

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire that was threatening structures on Fox Drive. The fire crew extinguished approximately 10 hay bales that were in flames.

BFPD responded to a gas odor on Meining Road. The crew was unable to find any elevated levels of gas.

Friday, March 15

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Weld County Road 46. The crew assisted with medical care and the patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm on Fifth St. The fire crew was met by the homeowner who told them that this was a false alarm caused by cooking in the kitchen. The crew investigated before leaving.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for a person on Iowa Ave experiencing seizures.

BFPD responded to a medical call on 49th SE Street for a person with breathing problems.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 255. This was a three-vehicle accident with moderate damage and no reported injuries.

Sunday, March 17

BFPD responded to a 2-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. There was mild to moderate damage to the vehicles and no injuries were reported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Welch Ave. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Redwood Circle.

BFPD was dispatched to assist with a structure fire on West Eisenhower Blvd.

Tuesday, March 19

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on N. 83rd Street. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, March 20

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call for chest pain on Fifth Street. The crew assumed medical care until TVEMS arrived. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS and the Boulder County Sherriff with a medical call on 115th Street.

Thursday, March 21

BFPD responded to a medical call for a patient on Paramount Drive who had fallen. The crew assumed patient care until arrival of TVEMS. The patient was transported.

Friday, March 22

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of a gas odor on Third Street. The crew did not find any elevated levels of gas in the residence.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 252. This was a single-vehicle accident with no reported injuries.

BFPD responded to a medical call for breathing problems on Thundering Peaks Drive. The crew assumed the medical care until TVEMS arrived. The patient was transported.

Saturday, March 23

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. A vehicle had slid off the road and there were no injuries reported.

BFPD responded to a single vehicle in the ditch near 11012 County Road 2. There were no injuries reported.

BFPD responded to Interstate 25 at mile marker 253 for a 20-car pileup in the northbound lane including 3 to 4 semi trucks. One of the trucks was a fuel tanker and the cab was fully involved in flames. An additional motor vehicle accident caused 23 more vehicles to pileup behind Berthoud Engine 1. The crew extinguished the fire and then worked on hazard mitigation. The Berthoud and Loveland Fire crews assisted with patient assessments and they began to find shelter for occupants in the fire engines and in undamaged vehicles. Eventually the crews found a commercial building nearby and began relocating to the shelter. A City of Loveland Transportation bus was able to eventually relocate many vehicle occupants to RV America for better accommodation. Three patients were injured and transported. When all medical concerns and hazards had been addressed, the fire units were released.

BFPD responded to a report of power lines down on East County Road 14 due to a vehicle that had struck the power pole. Colorado State Patrol responded until the power company arrived.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Beverly Drive. TVEMS was on scene and advised BFPD to cancel due to the number of incidents on the Interstate.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Martingale Drive. The patient was transported.

Sunday, March 24

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

Monday, March 25

BFPD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. While enroute the call was cancelled by Colorado State Patrol reporting a non-injury accident.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 and the call was again cancelled by the Colorado State Patrol.

Tuesday, March 26

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Mount Massive St. The patient was experiencing chest pain and was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Ninth St. for a person who had fainted. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a person with seizures on Willow Dr. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of CO alarms going off in an apartment at Third St. and Massachusetts Ave. The fire crew found elevated readings of carbon monoxide in the apartment and did further investigating to find elevated readings of carbon monoxide and natural gas leaks throughout the building. Xcel responded and shut off and locked the gas line. The building was evacuated until the cause of the unsafe levels of carbon monoxide and natural gas are determined.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Rocky Peak Dr. The patient was transported.

Thursday, March 28

BFPD responded to a medical call on County Road 27E.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for an individual with chest pain on Eighth St. The patient was transported.

Friday, March 29

BFPD responded to a report of Lifeline activation on Michigan Ave. This was a false alarm and the crew reset the alarm.

BFPD responded to a report of a man slumped over a steering wheel in a vehicle on County Road 46. TVEMS arrived and assumed patient care and the crew cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person having breathing problems at the Berthoud Living Center. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire in Loveland. The call was cancelled when Loveland Fire determined the fire was a controlled burn.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. This was a single vehicle accident with a person complaining of shoulder pain. TVEMS arrived and assumed the patient care.

Saturday, March 30

BFPD responded to a medical call for hemorrhaging on Jefferson Ave. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. A single vehicle had driven off the roadway into the guardrail. There was moderate damage to the vehicle but no injuries were reported.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident at the Valley Dirt Rider track. The crew assisted with medical assistance. The patient was transported.

Sunday, March 31

BFPD responded to a report of a person who had fallen while hiking near the Carter Lake campground. The hiker had complaints of back pain and numbness. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient by cot down the trail and then the patient was transported for further medical treatment.

BFPD responded to a call on I-25 for a car pulled off the side of the interstate with the driver slumped over the steering wheel. No vehicle was found.
