Wednesday, May 1

BFPD and Loveland Fire responded to a structure fire on Caballero Street. When the crew arrived they found a detached garage fully involved in flames. The fire was extinguished and the investigation completed.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Longview Ave. The patient was transported.

Friday, May 3

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on Mountain Ave. Two occupants were injured and transported.

Saturday, May 4

BFPD responded to a medical call on Meining Road. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and the patient was transported.

Sunday, May 5

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 287 and County Road 8. Both vehicles had moderate to heavy damage. The fire crew assisted with traffic control and patient care. One patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call for chest pain on Blue Mountain Ave. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical attention. The patient was transported.

Monday, May 6

BFPD responded to a smoke investigation on Sage Place. This turned out to be a controlled burn in a field. The homeowner attending the fire was notified of the burn permit process for future fires.

Tuesday, May 7

BFPD responded to a medical call requested by Berthoud Police on Longview Ave. The fire crew was released from the scene after an investigation by the police.

Wednesday, May 8

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on 7th St. TVEMS assumed patient care and released the fire crew back into service.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to Lake Ave. for a report of a sick person. The individual was requesting assistance getting to rehabilitation. The patient was transported.

Thursday, May 9

BFPD responded to a medical call for heart problems on Sprague Ave. The fire crew began patient care until the arrival of TVEMS. The fire crew was then released from the scene.

BFPD was requested to assist with a structure fire on Woodbine Lane in Johnstown. The Berthoud fire crew pulled ceiling in the garage, siding and roofing material to help extinguish the fire.

BFPD responded to a medical call at Berthoud High School for a student who was having seizures. The crew assisted TVEMS with transporting the patient.

Friday, May 10

BFPD responded to a medical call on Munson Ct. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with patient care. The patient was transported.

Saturday, May 11

BFPD responded with TVEMS for a medical call on Weld County Road 5. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on W. County Road 6. The patient was found already deceased.

BFPD responded for a possible stroke victim on Homer Road. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with the patient care and helped to transport the patient.

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. The crew was unable to locate an accident.

Sunday, May 12

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on North Larimer County Road 31 for a toddler who was having seizures. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. A single vehicle was in the median, there were no injuries. The fire crew assisted with traffic control and then cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person choking on Nebraska Ave. The patient was breathing upon arrival. The patient chose to drive to the hospital for further care.

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a patient having breathing difficulties. The patient was transported.

Monday, May 13

BFPD responded to a report of a grass fire in a neighbor’s front yard. The fire was out when the crew arrived and the owner was advised of the need to obtain a permit before burning.

Tuesday, May 14

BFPD responded to a medical emergency for a suspected stroke victim on Settler’s Ridge Drive. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and the patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical emergency for a sick person on Welch Ave. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and the patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a grass fire at Ish Reservoir. A small pile of smoldering debris was found smoldering from a previous burn. The fire was extinguished.

Wednesday, May 15

BFPD assisted a person who walked into St. #1 needing assistance with a toddler who had something stuck in the left nostril of his nose. The crew was able to dislodge the object.

Thursday, May 16

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 246. The call was cancelled enroute.

BFPD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. Two occupants were injured and transported.

Friday, May 17

BFPD responded to a medical call at Turner Middle School. A pupil was found in the nurse’s office complaining of burning in the chest and lungs. The fire crew assisted with patient care until the arrival of TVEMS. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS and Berthoud Police with a medical issue on Mountain Ave. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS and Berthoud Police to a medical call on Nebraska Ave. No patient care needed so the fire crew cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a report of a woman with a diabetic problem in her vehicle on Hwy 56 at Pyramid Peak Dr. The crew administered patient care until the arrival of TVEMS and then managed traffic control.

Saturday, May 18

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a man who had fallen on Bothun Road. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at Valley Dirt Rider Track. A 14 year old was injured and transported.

BFPD responded to Spartan Ave for a power line arching. There were no life or fire hazards. Poudre REA was notified and the fire crew cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a fire alarm at Berthoud High School. The crew found a burnt motor in one of the HVAC units that was causing the alarm.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a fall on McColm St. The patient needed assistance into his chair, no further medical attention was needed.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a patient having chest pains on Mayo Court. The patient was transported.

Sunday, May 19

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a person who had fallen from a ladder on Weld County Road 7. The patient was evaluated and then released.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on SW 42nd St. This was a two-vehicle accident with minor damage. One patient was injured and transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Elmwood St. for a laceration to the foot of a 14 year old. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, May 21

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a resident with breathing difficulties at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on County Road 15A. The vehicle was found on its roof, no passengers were in the vehicle. The crew searched the area for parties involved. A passerby reported seeing four juveniles leaving the vehicle by foot. The owner of the vehicle was notified and arrived on scene; he reported that all the occupants of the vehicle were uninjured.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a person with chest pain on Weld County road 36. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, May 22

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. The two vehicles were in the center median with all parties out of the vehicles. Two occupants were checked by TVEMS for injuries.

BFPD responded to a fire alarm at Campion Academy. The alarm was caused by a faulty detector in the boy’s dormitory and the building staff was advised it would need to be repaired.

Thursday, May 23

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on County Road 17 and Mountain Ave. This was a three-vehicle accident with one injured driver needing extrication. There were no other injuries reported.

BFPD was dispatched to a reported grass fire near Interstate 25 at mile marker 247. The crew was unable to find a fire.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

Friday, May 24

BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm at the Berthoud Living Center. The crew searched the entire structure and did notice an electrical odor but was unable to locate a source for the odor. The crew advised the building maintenance of their findings.

BFPD responded to a report of a tree on fire near County Road 4 and County Line Road. A cottonwood tree was in flames and was extinguished by the crew.

Saturday, May 25

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident with minor damage on Interstate 25 at mile marker 254. There were no reported injuries.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on County Road 8E. The crew searched the area and located a campfire near Road 8E and Scolfield Road. The party involved did not have a burn permit and was asked to extinguish the fire and obtain a permit in the future.

Sunday, May 26

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for breathing problems on Third St. The patient was transported.

BFPD was dispatched to a report of smoke in a residence on Munson Court. The crew found smoke coming from the basement, which was caused by a shorted outlet in the garage. The wall was opened to check for extension inside the walls. Nothing was found and the homeowner was advised to contact an electrician.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident on West County Road 8E. A motorcyclist was down but was uninjured. There were no hazards present.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident on N. County Road 31. A motorcyclist was found complaining of back pain and a possible broken arm. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident near 83rd St. and Yellowstone Road. This was a single vehicle rollover. The driver was injured but chose to not be transported. The fire crew assisted with traffic control and then cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a reported grassfire at the intersection of County Road 4 and South County Road 21. This was a controlled burn and the call was cancelled by dispatch.

Monday, May 27

BFPD responded to Weld County Road 7 for an unattended fire. The crew found 30-35 large tote bags filled with product that was burning. The crew extinguished the fire and made contact with the property and business owner.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. The call was cancelled by Colorado State Patrol.

Tuesday, May 28

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. This was a single vehicle accident with minor damage to the vehicle.

BFPD assisted a citizen on Weld County Road 5.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. A small pile of smoldering grass was found and then extinguished.

Wednesday, May 29

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Horseshoe Circle. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle/pedestrian accident at First Street and Bunyan Ave. There were no injuries.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Weld County Road 5. Two patients were ill, one possibly having a stroke and the other a heart attack. Both patients were transported.

Thursday, May 30

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. A truck was found on its side in the southbound lanes of traffic. There were no injuries. The fire crew assisted with traffic control.

Friday, May 31

BFPD responded with Loveland Fire to a six-vehicle accident on South Taft Ave. This was a non-injury accident.
