Friday, May 1

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire at the intersection of WCR 7 and WCR 48. The crew searched the area for a fire and nothing was found. It was then determined to be from a blow off operation from one of the oilrigs in the area.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near Highway 287 and WCR 4. The crew found this to be a controlled agricultural burn.

BFPD and TVEMS assisted a fall victim on Colorado Avenue. The crew helped lift the patient to the bed.

Sunday, May 3

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for breathing difficulties on Second St. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a single vehicle accident on First Street. There was no damage to the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for back pain on Victoria Street.

correction to April 29 report on Marshall Place; the incident was due to a kitchen appliance fire.

Monday, May 4

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for chest pains on 8th Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a citizen request for assistance with moving a patient on Victoria Street.

BFPD responded to an outside gas leak on Tranquil Way. Upon arrival to the scene it was confirmed that a construction company had hit a 1 ½” gas line causing the gas odor. Xcel was notified and responded. After the line was clamped in two different locations, stopping the flow of the gas, the fire crew cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm at Berthoud Living Center. The crew found that the hood system in the kitchen had accidentally discharged. The alarm system would not reset until the system was serviced. A BFPD fire fighter remained on scene as a fire watch until the company came to repair the system.

Tuesday, May 5

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Third Street for a toddler having seizures. The fire crew assisted with medical care for the child.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a second call for seizures on Third Street, involving the same patient. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for chest pain.

BFPD responded to a report of a grass fire. The fire was reported to be about five miles from Pyramid Peak Street. The crew located the area and it was found to be from an oilrig that was burning off excess fuel.

Wednesday, May 6

BFPD responded to a mutual aid with Loveland Fire for a structure fire on SW 42nd Street. The call was a false alarm.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Victoria Street. The patient was transported.

Thursday, May 7

BFPD responded to an odor investigation on Seventh Street and Bunyan Avenue. The crew checked the building with the CO monitor and nothing was found.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a walk in medical call at Fire Station 1 on Mountain Ave.

Friday, May 8

BFPD responded to a reported smoke/fire investigation in the area of County Road 17 and Highway 287. The fire crew searched the area and determined what was reported was from an oilrig burning off excess oil.

BFPD responded with TVEMS for a medical call for breathing problems on Shelby Drive. The patient was transported.

Saturday, May 9

BFPD responded to a medical call on Branding Iron Way. The crew provided medical care until TVEMS arrived. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for cardiac arrest on Bunyan Court. The patient was deceased upon arrival to the scene. The crew remained on scene until LCSO arrived then they cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a request for sandbags on N. 83rd Street. The fire crew obtained sand bags from Little Thompson Water District and placed them around the exterior of the residence.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. This was a single vehicle accident with minor damage and no injuries.

BFPD responded to a reported residential structure fire on Oak Drive. There were no signs of smoke or fire. The crew searched the residence and found 6-8 inches of water in the crawl space and the furnace was not under water but had several loose wires causing it to malfunction, which had caused the strong odors. The homeowner was advised to have an HVAC company service their furnace before turning it back on.

Sunday, May 10

BFPD responded to a single vehicle found in the median on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. There was no damage to the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on LCR 21. The patient was transported.

Monday, May 11

BFPD responded to a fuel spill on E. Highway 56. Approximately 10 gallons of fuel was spilled on the roadway from a vehicle that had hit a deer. No injuries were reported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to an allergic reaction in a resident on E. Iowa Ave.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287 and CR 8. A single vehicle was found in the ditch with the driver inside the car complaining of neck pain. The driver was transported.

Tuesday, May 12

BFPD, TVEMS and LCSO responded to a medical call on Franklin Avenue. The patient was transported.

Wednesday, May 13

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249 southbound. There was moderate damage to the vehicles. No injuries were reported.

BFPD responded to a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. One patient was transported.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for injury on LCR 21.

BFPD responded to a report of a gas leak on Glacier Avenue. A gas line had been cut by a backhoe. Xcel was notified and responded to the location to make repairs.

Thursday, May 14

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Taras Court.

BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm on Hubble Street. The fire crew did not find any signs of smoke or odors and then determined that the smoke detectors were malfunctioning. The fire crew replaced the batteries for the homeowner.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident on LCR 8E. A motorcyclist left the roadway and hit a fence line. The rider was injured and transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249 southbound. Two vehicles were found off the roadway with light damage. There were no injuries reported.

Friday, May 15

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bunyan Avenue. There were no injuries reported.

Sunday, May 17

BFPD responded to a medical call on Singing Water Court. The patient was transported.

Monday, May 18

BFPD responded to a medical call on Navajo Place for a patient who had fallen and was experiencing pain in the shoulder and knee. When TVEMS arrived the patient care was transferred to them.

BFPD responded to a report of a semi that had run off the roadway into a guardrail on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. The guardrail was damaged and there was debris on the roadway, but the semi truck was no where to be seen.

Tuesday, May 19

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call on Second Street. The patient was transported emergency.

BFPD responded to a single vehicle accident on LCR 12 and Homer Road. The vehicle was found off the roadway into a field. There was only minor damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Thursday, May 21

BFPD responded to a report of carbon monoxide in a residence on East Indiana Ave. The crew found elevated readings of CO. Xcel was notified and responded. When the Xcel crew arrived, they confirmed that an acetylene tank was causing the problem. The tank was removed and the home was ventilated. After the levels were normal again the crew cleared the scene.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for breathing problems on LCR 6. The patient was transported.

Friday, May 22

BFPD responded to a CO alarm at a business on Meadowlark Drive. The crew did not find any levels of CO in the building. This appeared to be a false alarm.

BFPD and LCSO responded to an illegal burn on Turner Avenue. The occupant of the building was burning without a burn permit. The fire crew extinguished the fire and explained the burn permit process for the future.

Saturday, May 23

BFPD responded to a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a person who had fallen in their backyard on Dove Lane. The patient injured their leg and was transported.

BFPD responded to a two-vehicle accident on East Highway 56. Two occupants were injured and one of them was transported. The fire crew assisted with traffic control and assisted TVEMS with patient transport.

BFPD responded to a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. The vehicles sustained minor to moderate damage. There were no injuries reported. The crew removed debris from the roadway and mitigated vehicle hazards.

Sunday, May 24

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a fall on WCR 3. The patient needed assistance returning to his bed.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person sitting in his car on the side of the road needing medical attention. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a fall victim on S. CR 15. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with the patient.

BFPD responded to a smoke detector alarm issue on Mount Massive Street. The fire crew did not find any source of smoke or fire. It was determined the smoke detectors needed to be replaced.

Monday, May 25

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on 2nd Street. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, May 26

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 60 between WCR 1 and WCR 3. This was a vehicle vs. motorcycle accident. The motorcyclist was injured and transported.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call on S. Highway 287. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted a citizen who was in distress needing assistance at Fire Station 1 on Mountain Avenue.

Wednesday, May 27

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on 2nd Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for a fall on Lake Hollow. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a citizen request for assistance from a fall on Hubbell Street.

BFPD assisted a citizen on Glen Drive.

BFPD assisted a citizen with faulty smoke detectors in their residence on 2nd Street.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on NE Frontage Road. A female had fallen and broken her leg. The patient was transported.

Thursday, May 28

BFPD responded to a citizen request for assistance with their smoke detectors on 2nd Street.

BFPD responded to a gas leak on Tranquility Way. The fire crew found a 1-inch line that had been cut by a trenching excavator. Xcel was notified, responded and clamped the line.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Nebraska Avenue. A female had fallen and broken her leg. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on LCR 8E.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for traumatic injury on 4th Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a fall victim on Sheehan Drive. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on E. Highway 56 and WCR 7. This was a two-vehicle accident with moderate damage to both vehicles. There were no injured patients at the scene.

BFPD responded to an odor investigation on 1st Street and Turner Avenue. The fire crew found a gas odor in the area. A nearby business had been cleaning and pressure testing a tank causing the odor.

Friday, May 29

BFPD responded for a diabetic medical call on LCR 31. TVEMS arrived and the patient was then transported.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a person who had fainted on Chaparro Circle. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Franklin Avenue. The patient was transported.

Sunday, May 31

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on N. 95th for a patient who had fallen and dislocated their ankle. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical alert on E. County Road 8. This was a false alarm.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call on Cheyenne Drive for a patient who had fallen from a ladder while trimming trees on his property. He sustained a large laceration to his head. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident on Highway 287 and County Road 17. Two motorcycles were down and three patients were transported.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a medical call for seizures on 7th Street. The patient was transported.
