Thursday, Sept. 1
Citizens assist in the 500 block of Kansas Avenue for a woman who needed a ring removed. Engine 61 removed the ring with a rotary tool.
Engine 61 responded to the 2000 block of Nicholson Street for a 60-year-old man who had fallen and was bleeding from the head. The crew arrived and found TVEMS already on scene providing care. The patient was packaged for transport to a local hospital.
Engine 61 dispatched to Wrangler Way for an unconfirmed wildland fire. Engine 61 and 616 searched the area to locate a source and neither apparatus could find evidence of anything burning.
Engine 61 dispatched to Westport Ave for a Carbon Monoxide (CO) alarm activation. The crew searched the facility and found no abnormal readings on the gas detectors. Since no hazardous conditions were found, Engine 61 cleared the scene.
Friday, Sept. 2
Squad 62 responded to a medical call on Lake Hollow Road. The crew obtained vitals and patient history. When TVEMS arrived, the crew assisted with preparing the patient to be transported.
Saturday, Sept 3
Berthoud Fire responded to a medical call on Likens Drive. The crews assumed patient care until the arrival of TVEMS.
Engine 61 responded to a CO detector activation on Rubinette Lane. The crew found no elevated levels of CO. The batteries were then replaced in all the detectors in the residence and the system was reset.
Squad 61 responded to South Iowa for a medical call for seizures. TVEMS arrived and established patient contact. The crew helped with moving the patient to the cot to be transported.
Squad 62 responded to a medical emergency on Blue Mountain Ave. The crew assumed patient care until arrival of TVEMS. The crew assisted with preparing the patient to be transported and then cleared the scene.
Engine 61 responded to a single vehicle accident on Interstate 25, exit 250. With no hazards found from the vehicles and no injuries, Colorado State Patrol cleared the crew from the scene.
Engine 61 responded to a medical call on Diamondback Drive. Patient care was transferred to TVEMS.
Engine 61 responded to a single vehicle rollover with one person ejected on Weld County Road 1. The crew and TVEMS made patient contact. The patient was loaded into the ambulance to be transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Sunday, Sept 4
Engine 61 responded to a medical at Loves Travel Center. A woman was sitting on a motorcycle at the fuel pump complaining of feeling faint. TVEMS arrived and the crew assisted with loading the patient to be transported for further evaluation.
Engine 61 and TVEMS responded to 4th St. for person who had a fishhook stuck in their foot. The patient requested to pull the hook out himself. Wire cutters were used to remove the fishhook.
Sept. 5 – 11
Monday, Sept. 5
Engine 61 responded to the 100 block of Sioux Drive for an 84-year-old man with high blood pressure. TVEMS arrived on scene, the crew placed the cot outside the front door. Patient was walked outside and packaged for transport to a local hospital.
Berthoud Fire dispatched to the 500 block of 1st Street for a 40-year-old woman who was feeling sick and wanted to go to the hospital. Patient was packaged and placed into the ambulance for transport.
Engine 61 responded to the 400 block of Nebraska Avenue for a 92-year-old woman who had fallen out of bed and needed a lift assist. TVEMS cleared E61 and the woman was not transported.
Engine 61 responded to N. Berthoud Parkway for a 32-year-old man with chest pains. TVEMS arrived on scene, patient was placed onto the cot and packaged for transport.
Engine 61 responded to the 1000 block of Parkstone Court for an 88-year-old woman having difficulty breathing. The crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
E-61 dispatched along with TVEMS to the 1000 block of Chokeberry Street for a 79-year-old woman who had fainted. The crew assisted with vitals; the patient was walked outside to the cot by TVEMS. Patient was packaged and loaded into the ambulance.
Tuesday, Sept. 6
Engine 61 responded to Clayton Place for a dumpster fire. The fire had been put out by the property owners. The crew overhauled the dumpster and confirmed the fire was out and no hot spots were present. Also, Command ensured no extension or rekindles were possible. The scene was turned over to the facility manager.
Berthoud Fire was included as part of a first alarm for a residential structure fire on Manzanita Drive in south Loveland. E61 and E62 arrived with BC61 and got to work with extinguishment . As the incident was brought under control, fire attack was disbanded, and crews were released.
Engine 61 dispatched to Rosewood Drive for fainting. Notes stated that the husband passed out while driving and crashed through neighbor’s fence. TVEMS was already providing care, the crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
Wednesday, Sept. 7
Engine 61 responded to the 2000 block of Heron Lakes Parkway for a 69-year-old man having a possible stroke. The crew arrived with TVEMS and assisted with packaging the patient for transport to a local hospital.
Unconfirmed structure fire in the 2000 block of Breckenridge Drive. BC61 arrived on scene to see the house evacuated with a light haze of smoke coming from the opened garage. The homeowner stated that his RC car batteries caught fire on their own, and the garage smoke detector went off. He stated that he used 2 dry chemical extinguishers to put out the fire and pulled the battery shelf away from the back wall. BC notified incoming crews the fire was out, but he needed an all clear of the whole structure from extensions. E61 cleared the home and turned the scene over to the homeowner.
Medical assist with TVEMS in the 800 block of Winding Brook Drive. A 72-year-old woman had fallen, and the crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport to a local hospital.
E-61 dispatched to the 1000 block of Hwy 56 for a 16-year-old with heat stroke. When TVEMS arrived, the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.
Engine 61 responded to the 600 block of 9th Street for a 66-year-old man who had fallen. TVEMS assumed patient care, and the crew assisted with loading of the patient for transport.
Service call at 7-11 for a disabled vehicle. The crew assisted the owner by pushing the vehicle into a parking spot. The owner then called a tow truck and had the vehicle towed.
Thursday, Sept. 8
Citizen’s assist to the 200 block of S. 8th Street to replace a smoke detector battery. The faulty smoke detector was located at the peak of a vaulted ceiling. The crew replaced the battery and reset the system. The grandson said he would take care of the remaining smoke detectors.
Citizens assist in the 2000 block of Barela Drive requesting our assistance with replacing some smoke detector batteries. The crew began noticing multiple smoke detectors that were showing a red light. They replaced a total of 8 smoke detector batteries and tested the system. The system was reset, and all smoke detectors were showing green lights indicating the system was operational.
Friday, Sept. 9
Engine 62 responded to the 2000 block of Blue Mountain Avenue for an 82-year-old man hemorrhaging. The patient was conscious and alert. The crew began to obtain a set of vitals and history of patient. TVEMS assumed patient care. and the crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25, exit 250 Southbound. The crew found 2 pickup trucks involved in a rear-end type accident. One person was injured. The crew assisted with blocking traffic until the arrival of CSP.
Engine 61 responded to a CO alarm on 10th Street. The homeowner had reset the detector in the basement that had alarmed. The gas monitor did not find any readings of CO and all detectors were checked and showing green lights. The crew left the house to the homeowner.
Saturday, Sept 10
Engine 61 responded to a medical stage with Larimer County Sheriff’s officers on West County Road 14. The patient was transported.
BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm on Westport Avenue. Engine 61 arrived and entered the house to begin investigation. The homeowner said the alarm sounded when they turned on the furnace. The crew determined that the house was new, the vents were not cleaned out or the furnace not turned on since construction. The dust in the air caused the alarms to activate. The house was ventilated, and the residence turned over to the homeowners.
Engine 61 helped a homeowner on East Nebraska Avenue with an activated smoke alarm. The batteries were replaced in one unit, and a malfunctioning unit was left disconnected. The homeowner was advised to replace the one unit.
Engine 62 dispatched to Yellowstone Road for a medical call. The crew assisted TVEMS with preparing and loading the patient to be transported.
Engine 61 responded to a report of smoke in a neighbor’s backyard on Cedar Drive. The crew contacted the neighbor, who stated that they had a fire earlier in their backyard. The fire was in a commercial fire pit and the fire had been extinguished before the crew’s arrival.
Sunday, Sept 11
Engine 61 responded to a report of smoke alarms sounding in an unoccupied 2 story duplex on Evening Breeze Drive. There were no signs of fire. The owners were not present and LCSO was able to contact the homeowners. The crew gained access through a window. All batteries were replaced in the detectors, and the smoke alarms were reset.
BFPD dispatched to Love’s truck stop for a man who had been assaulted and sustained injuries. TVEMS and LCSO were accessing the patient. The crew assisted in loading the patient to be transported.
BFPD responded to a multiple-vehicle accident with minor damage at mile marker 251 on Interstate 25, southbound lanes. One person was injured and TVEMS handled the patient care. All units were cleared by CSP.
Engine 61 responded with LCSO and TVEMS to a medical call on S. Iowa Ave. The crew helped with packaging the patient to be transported.
Sept. 12-18
Monday, Sept. 12
Engine 61 responded to the 100 block of Willow Circle Drive for a 55-year-old woman having a seizure. The patient was in the front yard being evaluated by TVEMS. The crew assisted TVEMS with retrieving the cot and placing the patient onto the cot and into the ambulance. The patient was transported to a local hospital.
Engine 61 dispatched to the 600 block of County Road Trail for a 71-year-old woman with a nosebleed. TVEMS assumed patient care, and the crew retrieved the cot and assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
Engine 61 responded to I-25 NB for a 2-vehicle accident with moderate damage. While investigating the scene, the incident turned out to have involved 5 vehicles, 3 with minor damage and 2 with moderate damage. The crew tended to hazards and fluids on the two vehicles. E-61 remained on the scene to provide blocking until the tow truck arrived and all vehicles were removed from the roadway.
Berthoud Fire responded to the 1000 block of Gabriella Lane for a lift assist.
Engine 62 dispatched to 850 Spartan Avenue for a football injury on the field. The crew gathered equipment for TVEMS and brought it out on the field. The patient was secured on the cot for transport.
Squad 61 responded to the 1000 block of Gabriella Lane for a 90-year-old man who had fallen. TVEMS assumed patient care, and the patient was loaded into the ambulance and transported.
Engine 62 responded to the 4000 block of Malibu Drive for a man who had fallen and needed to be transported to a local hospital. The crew assisted with packaging the patient and loading him into the ambulance.
Tuesday, Sept. 13
E-62 responded to the 2000 block of Martingale Drive for a 78-year-old woman with breathing problems. TVEMS arrived and assumed patient care. The crew retrieved the cot and assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
Citizens assist for a faulty detector activation. The malfunctioning detector was found upstairs in the hallway. Once the detector was pulled, the system went quiet and reset itself. Since the detector was from 2001, the crew suggested all new detectors for the house. With the house free of hazards and the faulty detector removed, the house was turned back over to the homeowner.
Engine 61 dispatched to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a 90-year-old woman who was unconscious. The crew was met at the front door by a neighbor who escorted them inside the residence to the patient. TVEMS assumed patient care, and the patient was transported to a local hospital.
Engine 61 responded to the 1000 block of Gabriella Lane for a 38-year-old woman who had abdominal pain after doing the ‘spicy chip challenge [1]’. The patient status was passed to TVEMS, and patient care was transferred.
Wednesday, Sept. 14
Engine 61 responded to the 1000 block of Hollyberry Street for a 36-year-old woman who was 28 weeks pregnant and dehydrated. The patient was loaded into ambulance for transport to a local hospital.
Citizen assist in the 600 block of Pyramid Peak Street for replacement of smoke detector batteries. The crew replaced all smoke detector batteries and tested system.
Engine 61 responded to the 600 block of Lake Avenue for a 75-year-old woman who had fallen. TVEMS arrived and patient care was transferred to them.
Thursday, Sept 15
Engine 61 responded to the 900 block of Gabriella Lane for chirping smoke detectors. The crew replaced batteries and tested and reset all detectors. Property turned back over to homeowner.
Citizens assist in the 1000 block of Greenwood Drive with a gas stove question. Met the homeowner at front door, no gas smell upon entering the residence. No abnormal readings on 4-gas monitor. The crew turned on the appliance, and it appeared to be functioning normally. Still no smell of gas or abnormal readings. There was a faint hiss coming from oven temperature knob that the homeowner described. Unknown what the source was. Homeowner was advised to have a service technician look at appliance and to call 911 if gas smell was ever detected.
Friday, Sept. 16
Engine 61 responded to the 700 block of 3rd Street for a 56-year-old woman feeling sick. The crew was met at the front door by woman’s husband and led to the patient. E-61 was obtaining vitals and patient history when patient care was transferred to TVEMS. The crew assisted TVEMS with walking patient to privately owned vehicle for transport to hospital.
Engine 613 and Tender 61 responded to a reported grass fire in the area of County Road 23E and Beverly Drive. After investigation, the crew was unable to locate a fire in the area. Information was found that Boulder County was performing a controlled burn on Rabbit Mountain, and after contacting Boulder County Communications, we were informed that no assistance was needed with the fire and that it was under control.
Engine 61 responded to a one vehicle accident on the northbound lane of 2nd Street. TVEMS handled the patient care for the injured party. Engine 61 handled hazards and fluid control.
Engine 61 responded to an 88-year-old man needing medical assistance on 23rd St. SW. TVEMS assessed the patient, and the crew helped with packaging the patient to be transported.

Engine 61 responded to a medical call for a 79-year-old man on Arapahoe Ave. The crew and TVEMS helped the patient who had fallen. No transport was needed.
Engine 61 and TVEMS were dispatched to a medical call at Love’s Travel Center. A 38-year-old woman was having difficulty breathing. TVEMS assessed the patient, and the crew assisted in preparing the patient to be transported to the hospital.
Sunday, Sept 18
Engine 62 assisted a homeowner on Arapahoe Ave. with a smoke detector. The batteries were replaced, and the system was working properly before the crew cleared the scene.
Squad 62 and TVEMS responded to a medical call on Cedar Drive. The crew helped TVEMS with loading the patient to be transported.
Engine 61 responded to Heron Lakes Parkway for reports of Carbon Monoxide (CO). The crew used the air monitor and found no CO or odor of smoke in the home. A defective detector was eventually found, and the owner was advised to replace the detector.
BFPD dispatched to Highway 287 for a motor vehicle accident. The crew found a vehicle vs motorcycle with one party on the ground. The crew immediately took C-spine precautions until TVEMS arrived and patient care was transferred. The patient was loaded onto a backboard and transported to the hospital.
Squad 61 and TVEMS responded to a medical call on Willow Drive. The crew assisted with loading the patient to be transported.
Squad 61 dispatched to 2nd Street for an 8-year-old with a nosebleed. The bleeding was under control when the crew arrived.

Monday, Sept. 19
Squad 61 responded to the Love’s Travel Center for a 51-year-old man having diabetic problems. LCSO made contact with the patient. The crew arrived on scene along with TVEMS.
Engine 61 dispatched to the intersection of Hwy 287 and 42nd Street for a 2-vehicle accident. One vehicle was on its top with the driver still inside. The driver crawled out, and C-spine precautions were immediately taken. TVEMS transported 1 patient to a local hospital. E-61 remained on scene until the vehicles were removed.
Berthoud Squad 61 responded to the 2000 block of Heron Lakes Parkway for a 37-year-old man who had fallen into a basement on a new construction home. TVEMS immobilized the patient, and the crew assisted with loading into the ambulance for transport.
Squad 61 responded to the 500 block of Mountain Avenue to assist with loading of a patient for transport to a local hospital.
Berthoud Fire responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

Tuesday, Sept. 20
Engine 62 responded to the 10000 block of S. County Road 23E for a homeowner burning a small pile of weeds without a burn permit. The homeowner was unaware that he needed to obtain a burn permit through Larimer County. Once the homeowner was informed on burning regulations, the crew cleared the call.
Engine 61 dispatched to the 1000 block of White Water Court for a 76-year-old with stroke symptoms. TVEMS assumed patient care, and the crew assisted with preparing the patient for transport.
Engine 63 responded to the 1000 block of Horseshoe Circle for a cut gas line. The crew provided fire protection around 2 holes that had natural gas leading into them. Xcel Energy, Mears Group, USIC and PSC Q3 Contractors all worked together to locate and stop the gas leak.
Engine 61 responded to the 700 block of 2nd Street for a yellow box truck with a flat front tire next to a fire hydrant. The crew completed a visual inspection and confirmed that the hydrant was damaged. The crew placed an out of service bag over the hydrant. LCSO would handle the investigation and notify Town of Berthoud Water Department.
Wednesday, Sept. 21
Engine 61, along with TVEMS, dispatched to the 1000 block of Hollyberry Street for a 79-year-old woman who had fallen and needed a lift assist. The crew assisted her with getting up and into chair.
Engine 61 responded to the 3000 block of Fairways Drive for a 69-year-old man with chest pains. Assisted TVEMS with packaging and loading of the patient for transport.
Squad 61 dispatched to the 1000 block of Hollyberry Street for a 79-year-old who was unconscious. TVEMS requested the crew to pull the cot out of the ambulance and assist with moving the patient out to the cot. Patient was loaded into the ambulance and transport to a local hospital.
Thursday, Sept. 22
Berthoud Fire responded to the 2000 block of E. Hwy 60 for a 96-year-old woman who had fallen. The woman was completely alert and sitting in a chair. TVEMS cleared the crew from the scene.
Engine 61 responded to a medical call in the 700 block of 4th Street. TVEMS arrived and took over patient assessments. LCSO arrived on scene. The patient was walked to the cot and was transported for further evaluation.
Friday, Sept 23
Engine 61, LCSO and TVEMS responded to a medical on Urban Place. LCSO cleared TVEMS and Berthoud Fire to return to service. LCSO remained at the scene.
Saturday, Sept 24
Berthoud Fire responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.
Squad 61 assisted with an interfacility transfer at Berthoud Living Center.
Squad 61 dispatched to the 1000 block of Arapahoe Ave for a possible stroke patient. TVEMS arrived and assumed the patient care. The crew assisted with loading the patient to be transported.
Sunday, Sept 25
Engine 62 responded to a medical emergency on N. County Road 31 for reports of a 1-year-old who was not breathing. The patient was found alert and crying. The crew administered care until TVEMS arrived. The patient and mother were walked to the ambulance and transported to the hospital.
Engine 62 responded to CR 27E for reports of a medical assist. The crew assessed the patient and TVEMS was soon cancelled from the incident. The patient refused being transported.
Squad 61 and TVEMS were dispatched to the 3300 block of Fairways Drive for a medical. TVEMS was on scene with the patient, and the crew assisted with preparing the patient for transport.
Sept. 26-30
Monday, Sept. 26
Engine 61 responded to the 2000 block of Hwy 287 for a 2-vehicle accident with moderate to heavy damage. Both occupants refused transport by EMS. Engine provided blocking for scene protection for LCSO and CSP. The crew swept up some debris off the roadway.
Engine 62 dispatched to the 6000 block of W. County Road 12 for a 78-year-old man who had fallen and was dizzy. TVEMS arrived and assumed patient care, at which time the patient was packaged for transport to a local hospital.
Engine 61 responded to the 600 block of 9th Street for a 77-year-old man who had fallen and needed a lift assist.
Engine 62 dispatched to the 4000 block of Malibu Drive for a 50-year-old man who was weak and numb in the legs and arms. The crew assisted TVEMS with loading of the patient for transport to a local hospital.

Engine 62 responded to the 3000 block of Meining Road for a 75-year-old woman who had fallen and an 80-year-old man with back spasms. Both were loaded into the ambulance for transport.

Tuesday, Sept. 27
Engine 61 responded to the 2000 block of Alpine Sky Drive for a 57-year-old man collapsed on the floor. TVEMS and the crew prepared the patient for transport.
Berthoud Fire responded to a single vehicle rollover in the 2000 block of S. Hwy 287. Confirmed no hazards and single occupant standing outside vehicle.
Engine 61, along with TVEMS, was dispatched to the 800 block of Longview Avenue for an 80-year-old woman feeling sick. TVEMS initiated patient care and the crew was on stand-by. The patient completed refusal form.

Wednesday, Sept. 28
E-62 responded to South Hwy 287 for a 2-vehicle accident with heavy damage. Upon the arrival of TVEMS, CPR was stopped, and driver of the sedan was declared deceased. The passenger of the sedan was loaded into the ambulance and transported to a local hospital. The driver of the pick-up truck was packaged and transported. Once all patients had been transported, the scene was turned over to Colorado State Patrol. E-62 remain on-scene until CDOT arrived with traffic barricades to shut down the north bound lanes of Hwy 287.
Engine 61 and TVEMS responded to a PD request for a non-emergency at Loves Travel Stop for a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 25. One patient was complaining of neck pain. The crew placed the patient in a c-collar. Patient care was transferred to TVEMS. The patient was loaded into the ambulance.
Thursday, Sept. 29
Engine 61 responded to Ziggy’s Coffee on Mountain Avenue for a fire. A small refrigerator and a power strip had malfunctioned and caused a small fire. The fire had been extinguished by staff. A bystander pulled the 400- amp breaker from the main panel to secure power prior to Berthoud Fire’s arrival. Inside the business the crew checked for any heat signatures and told the workers they could re-enter the building. No circuit breakers were tripped. The main breaker was re-installed and inside was again checked for any heat signatures. Command was terminated, and the scene was turned back over to the workers.
E-61 dispatched to the 1000 block of Gaucho Court for a 67-year-old woman who had extreme pain in her lower back and wanted to be transported to a local hospital. TVEMS and the crew prepared the cot and moved the patient down the stairs and into the ambulance.
Engine 61 and TVEMS responded to a medical call on Rosewood Drive. A female patient was transported to the hospital.

Friday, Sept. 30
Engine 62 dispatched to the intersection of Hwy 287 and Berthoud Parkway for a 2-vehicle accident. Both vehicles were found with light damage and no injuries were reported. The crew provided traffic control, cleared the road debris, and checked for vehicle hazards before clearing the scene.
BFPD and TVEMS helped with a lift assist for a patient on Cuda Court.
