Lady Spartans Place Fifth in R2-J Invitational

The Berthoud High School girls golf team competed in the R2-J league meet on Thursday at the hilly Mariana Butte Golf Course in Loveland. As a team, the Lady Spartans finished in fifth place out of the six teams competing from the Northern League of class 4A.
The Lady Spartans will compete Tuesday in Fort Morgan and Wednesday in Estes Park before returning to Mariana Butte on Monday, May 9 for the 4A Northern League Regional tournament.

[2]- Jesa Emerson tees off on the 7th hole. “She put up a 102 today; she’s getting close to where she can break through and hopefully that will be in a week and a half (at Regionals),” said King.
