Friday, April 1
Assist to Weld County Sheriff’s Office: East Highway 56 – A man reported to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) that he was kidnapped by armed subjects and then was involved in a pursuit with WCSO down Highway 85. Later that morning, the man ended up at a business in Berthoud and reported the same story to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. During an interview and search of the vehicle, his story did not match up, and it appears he was suffering a mental health episode or under the influence. The man was later contacted and arrested by WCSO.
Motor Vehicle Theft: 7th Street – A 2017 Nissan Murano was stolen from the driveway of a residence as it was warming up and left unlocked.
Fraud/Scam: Oak Drive – A man wired $12,000.00 to Adaptive Consignments for a Honda side-by-side. The side-by-side was never delivered and Adaptive Consignment disappeared from the internet shortly after the money was wired.
Saturday, April 2
Burglary Follow-Up/Warrant Arrest x2: 2nd Street – Deputies were able to identify a suspect and suspect vehicle in a cold burglary and saw the vehicle while on an unrelated call. The suspect was contacted inside a vehicle and admitted to being on the scene during the attempted burglary. The man was booked on the charges and two outstanding warrants.
Driving Under the Influence: Grand Market Avenue/Prairiestar Drive – A female driver was stopped due to driving infractions and was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Booked in at the Larimer County Jail. DUI turns into a SIJ. (Sit In Jail).
Mental Health Hold: Martingale Drive – A male was taken to the hospital after he swallowed pills in an attempt to commit suicide. At the hospital, the man was placed on a mental health hold.
Hit & Run Motor Vehicle Accident: Berthoud Parkway/Woodcock Street- A gray Infiniti sedan crashed into the roundabout causing damage to signs and town property. The vehicle was found abandoned with heavy damage at Rancho Way/Crestridge Drive. Beer bottles were observed in the vehicle. A driver was identified, but deputies were unable to contact him by phone. But we will contact him by handcuffs.
Sunday, April 3
Driving Under the Influence/Speeding: Highway 287/County Road 4 – A male driver was stopped traveling 98 MPH in a 65 MPH zone and accelerating. The driver was slurring his speech and made conflicting statements about where he was coming from. The driver agreed to perform roadside maneuvers and did not perform them in a manner consistent with sobriety. The man was later booked in at the Larimer County Jail speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol. A 98 miles per hour drunk. Nothing bad can happen here.

Monday, April 4
Assist to Colorado State Patrol & Fort Collins Police Services: Mile Marker 250 I-25 – Right at shift change, deputies assisted Colorado State Patrol with a rollover Motor Vehicle Accident. The vehicle was stolen out of Fort Collins and was tracked via GPS. The suspect fled west from I-25 and deputies assisted by checking the area and using a drone to check fields in the area.
Violation of a Protection Order: Skimmer Street – A man violated a protection order by contacting his family at this address. The man later turned himself in at the Berthoud Town Hall and was booked at the Larimer County Jail.
Tuesday, April 5
Mental Health Hold: Highway 287/Highway 56 – A man ran out into traffic and made statements of self-harm. He was taken to the hospital and placed on a mental health hold. Thanks to Colorado State Patrol for their assistance in locating and de-escalating the situation until deputies arrived.
Found Property: A backpack was located in Wagoneer Farm Park by a citizen and brought to the Town Hall. The backpack contained an identification card and was returned to a residence where the owner of the backpack resides.
Motor Vehicle Accident: Chokeberry Street – A male driver claimed he was distracted by a black cat crossing in front of him as he drove through the neighborhood. The driver then made contact with a parked vehicle causing minor damage to the parked vehicle and moderate damage to the front of his vehicle. Black cat crosses your path, right after you crash into another vehicle. Myth?
Wednesday, April 6
Suicide: West County Road 14 – While performing a welfare check, deputies found an adult male deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigations, Lab, Victim’s Response Team, and the Coroner responded. There is 24/7 Support. Identity Theft/Fraud: Shelby Drive – An unknown individual opened an account in a man’s name and left an outstanding bill. The man was supplied with identity theft protection resource information.
Identity Theft/Fraud: 13th Street – Two charges for $198.70 appeared on woman’s bank statement. It is unknown at this time why the charges occurred, and the woman was supplied with identity theft protection resource information.
Thursday, April 7
Warrant Arrest: Capital Avenue – While attempting to contact another resident at this address for warrants at this address, a man approached on foot advising he was staying there temporarily. The man currently had a felony and a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest and was subsequently booked at the Larimer County Jail.
Identity Theft/Fraud: Spring Beauty Drive – A man reported that his personal information was fraudulently used to purchase a Samsung cell phone. The man was supplied with identity theft protection resource information.
Friday, April 8
Warrant Arrest x2: Meadowlark Drive – A man was transferred into custody from Longmont Police Department on two misdemeanor warrants and transported to the Larimer County Jail, where he was subsequently booked.
Saturday, April 9
Motor Vehicle Theft: Cooperland Boulevard – A white 2017 Subaru Legacy was stolen from a driveway overnight. A resident down the street captured surveillance video of the vehicle driving away at approximately 0015 hours. A black smaller sedan was seen leaving with the vehicle.
Motor Vehicle Theft/Unlawful Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance: Highway 56 – Deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop on a vehicle at a local business after it was learned that the vehicle was reported as stolen. Ultimately, the driver was arrested for aggravated motor vehicle theft and a passenger was arrested for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Warrant Arrest: Highway 56 – A woman was contacted at a local business during the investigation of the above motor vehicle recovery and was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was subsequently booked in at the Larimer County Jail. As Oprah would say; you go to jail, and you go to jail, and you go to jail.
Second-Degree Burglary/Criminal Mischief/Domestic Violence: Woodcock Street – Disturbance between a man and his girlfriend escalated and the man broke the door down to the residence and disconnected the battery terminals on the woman’s car before he fled the area. An investigation is ongoing and a warrant is forthcoming. Mess with someone’s battery, you will get Charged!

Improper Use of an Identification Card: 2nd Street – The staff of a local business reported that an underage male attempted to use a fake driver’s license out of Delaware to make a purchase. The driver’s license used his name and photograph with a different date of birth. Contact was made with the juvenile’s father, who advised he will drive the juvenile to the Sheriff’s Office Monday to pick up a summons.
Third-Degree Assault/Domestic Violence/Violation of a Protection Order x2: 2nd Street – A man threw a vat of cooking hot oil on his wife, causing third-degree burns. The man was also restrained from his wife twice. He fled the residence prior to law enforcement’s arrival and a warrant is forthcoming. The investigation is ongoing.
Unattended Death: South County Road 3E – An adult female was located deceased in her residence by her husband due to natural causes. Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.

Monday, March 11
Fatal Crash: Hwy 287 and CR8, a driver was driving on Hwy 287 when and elk ran out in front of her vehicle, and she hit the elk. The elk did not make it. Hats were removed and words were spoken over the deceased. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, my car has a dent and surely will rust.
Harassment / Domestic Violence: Victoria Street, a man slapped his wife on the side of the head several times. He was ultimately booked.
Fraud / Forgery: 2nd Street, A resident mailed out a check but when the check was returned it had been made out to someone else for $4700 more than the original check.
Assault / Domestic Violence / Violation of a Protection Order: 2nd Street, a man threw a vat of cooking hot oil on his wife causing 3rd degree burns. He is also restrained from his wife and is to have no contact. He fled prior to deputy’s arrival and later checked himself into the hospital for a voluntary mental health hold. Warrant forthcoming.
Violation of a Protection Order: W CR 14, a woman violated a protection order by consuming alcohol. She lives at this residence temporarily with her 4-year-old child and allegations of child abuse were made tonight. The woman was booked for VPO. Later in the evening, the child’s father called stating he was going over to the residence to take the child, which would also violate a protection order. Dad stated he did not care about going to jail. He may show up at the residence unannounced to try to take the child.
Accidental Shooting: Bunyan Avenue, a 17-year-old boy was driven to the hospital with a gunshot to his leg. Investigation revealed that he was cleaning a .25 caliber semi-auto when it discharged and went through his thigh.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: 3800 E Highway 56, an unoccupied Mercedes stolen out of Arvada with fictitious plate was located and recovered. 8.08g of suspected oxycontin was located inside. Plate seized. Vehicle towed for Arvada PD.
Theft: Tenderfoot Drive, approximately 75 sheets of siding were stolen overnight from a construction site.
Unwanted Person: 7th Street, a 36-year-old female was not welcomed at this address and was causing problems. She was trespassed from this property.

Vehicle Trespass: Megan Way, a resident’s unlocked vehicle was entered and rummaged through. Nothing missing currently.

Vehicle Trespass: Lowrey Lane, a resident reported her unlocked car was entered sometime last night. Nothing taken.
Friday, March 15
Suspicious Circumstances: Bronco Court, a resident reported that an unknown suspect attempted to enter two of his vehicles unsuccessfully. The unknown person appears to be a white male late 20s – mid 30s. He was wearing dark colored pants and a red long sleeve shirt and baseball hat. The suspect was aware of the camera and attempted to shield his face. The suspect covers his hands while he tries the handles.
Saturday, March 16
Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Claude Drive, Northglenn – Northglenn P.D. recovered a vehicle stolen in Berthoud. A 21-year-old man was identified on scene, but Northglenn did not have enough for an arrest.
Violation of a Protection Order / Harassment / Domestic Violence: CR 14, an ex-boyfriend sent 94 text messages to his ex-girlfriend within a short period of time in violation of a PO. Who has the time to do this? I haven’t sent 94 text messages since I got a cell phone.
Menacing / Reckless Endangerment / Child Abuse / Harassment / Resisting Arrest: CR 14 a man drove his vehicle at his ex-wife and a crowd of approximately 50-60 people related to a domestic incident.
Sunday, March 17
SCAM: Great Basin Court, a resident fell victim to the “Google Voice Scam.” No financial loss currently. Referred to the Federal Trade Commission website to file a report with them as well.
Fictitious Plates: 3800 E Highway 56, a 43-year-old Weldona man and a 28-year-old Greeley woman were contacted leaving Loves with a fictitious plate on their Dodge Avenger. Plates confiscated and they were cited and released.
Warrant Arrest: Big Empty Place & Grand Market, a 42-year-old Denver man was contacted and arrested for a warrant.
April 18 – 24
Monday, April 18
Theft: Rivergate Way – The Superintendent of a building company reported that $3,000 worth of lumber was stolen over the weekend. The suspects possibly hotwired a forklift to move the wood, which was along the rear fence line of the houses under construction.
Scam: Wilshire Drive – A woman reported receiving multiple nude photos from an unknown female. In addition, the unknown female continually asked for sexual favors.
Family Problems: Woodcock Street – Woman called 911 and reported that her juvenile son was out of control. Deputies responded, de-escalated the situation, and the family was provided with potential resources if issues arise again.
Scam: Crossing Street – A woman reported that her credit card was used without her permission. The woman was not out any money, and she was provided with resources to protect her credit and identity.
Tuesday, April 19
Felony Warrant Arrest: East Highway 56 – A man was contacted at a local business and found to have a Felony Warrant for his arrest. He was subsequently booked at the Larimer County Jail.
Driving Under the Influence of Drugs/Unlawful Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substances: Mountain Avenue – A male was contacted by deputies while he was asleep in the driver’s seat of his vehicle at a local business while the keys were in the ignition. He admitted to using methamphetamine and fentanyl earlier that day. A K9 search revealed user amounts of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The man was booked in at the Larimer County Jail.
Criminal Mischief: Berthoud – A juvenile was contacted by the School Resource Officer at the school and admitted to using a marker to put graffiti in the boy’s bathroom. He also admitted to using a marker on a wooden hand railing outside of the auditorium to create graffiti. The juvenile was issued a summons to appear at the Berthoud Municipal Court for vandalism.
Wednesday, April 20
Theft: Omni Court – A man reported that a license plate was stolen from his trailer. The license plate was entered as stolen into law enforcement databases.
Motor Vehicle Accident: Welch Avenue/3rd Street – Non-injury motor vehicle accident occurred when a vehicle turned eastbound onto Welch Avenue at 3rd street and another vehicle was driving eastbound on Welch Avenue. The driver of the first vehicle stated that she did not see the other vehicle driving on Welch Avenue and hit the driver’s side of that vehicle. The at-fault driver was issued a summons for Failing to Yield to Right-of-Way When Making a Left Turn.
Criminal Mischief: Berthoud – A juvenile was re-contacted by a School Resource Officer after more graffiti in the bathroom at Bein Park, similar to the graffiti found on 04/19/2021 at the high school. The same suspect was issued another summons to appear at the Berthoud Municipal Court for vandalism.
Thursday, April 21
Unattended Death: Berthoud – A five-month-old infant was found by a family member in a crib not breathing. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful. Victim’s Advocates responded to the scene in addition to several other LCSO resources and units.
Third-Degree Assault/Criminal Mischief/Domestic Violence: Barela Drive – A male struck his girlfriend with computer and then broke a laptop and desktop belonging to her before leaving the residence with a gun after making suicidal statements. The man was located under the County Road 10E overpass. He was safely taken into custody after being talked down by the LCSO Mental Health Co-Responder team and other deputies on scene.
Driving Under the Influence of Drugs/Unlawful Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substances/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: South Highway 287/ Horseshoe Circle – A man was contacted for a traffic infraction and was found to be under the influence of multiple narcotics. He failed voluntary roadside sobriety tests. Methamphetamine, Adderall, and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle following an alert after a K9 sniff. The man was booked into the Larimer County Jail.

Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest x2: Meadowlark Drive – A man was taken into the Larimer County Jail on two outstanding warrants.
Saturday, April 23
Runaway Juvenile: Berthoud – A female juvenile left with her 20-year-old boyfriend for Colorado Springs. The juvenile was entered as a missing person. She was later located by the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Kidnapping/Second-Degree Assault/Domestic Violence/Child Abuse: Longs Peak Avenue – Deputies responded to a disturbance at this address and contacted an intoxicated woman and her three-year-old daughter. Interviews and video collected gave evidence that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The woman was transported to the hospital. The male refused several attempts of being contacted, and an emergency warrant was entered for his arrest.
Sunday, April 24
Third-Degree Assault/Violation of Protection Order/Domestic Violence: Berthoud – A juvenile male, restrained from a juvenile female, was hit by her in the face causing a bloody nose. Both juveniles were booked at the Larimer County Hub.
Warrant/Follow-Up: Longs Peak Avenue – The male was booked on the warrant from the previous night’s domestic violence incident.
Criminal Mischief: 1st Street – Three unknown subjects attempted to throw a large rock through the door of a local business, causing damage to the glass on the door.

Theft/Criminal Mischief: Meadowlark Drive – A food truck parked in the dirt area had two generators stolen from the back of the vehicle. Unknown suspect(s) appeared to have pried the locked cages open.
Family Problems: Berthoud – A juvenile said that his mom bit him. Conflicting stories and injuries that appeared old, no substantiated criminal charges.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery: 7th Street – The Frederick Police Department recovered a stolen vehicle from this address. There are no suspects at this time and the vehicle was released to the owner.
Tuesday, April 26
Criminal Mischief: 2nd Street – A female damaged the building at a storage facility with paint. The woman was issued a summons to the Berthoud Municipal Court.
Littering: 4th Street – Two adult males dumped trash and unwanted furniture in the parking lot of a church. Neighbors saw and photographed the event. One of the sinners agreed to go clean up the parking lot instead of being charged.
Non-Injury Motor Vehicle Accident: Hwy 56 & I-25 Southbound On-Ramp – Two drivers sideswiped each other while merging onto the southbound on-ramp of Interstate 25.
Criminal Mischief/Theft: Mountain Avenue – Multiple calls came into the Sheriff’s Office regarding the same woman from the earlier criminal mischief incident, now at a local business. The woman stole items from the business, vandalized the business bathroom, and keyed an employee’s vehicle.
Wednesday, April 27
Menacing/Intimidation: Mountain Avenue – A customer at a local business became angry with an employee and hit the sneeze guard with his cane. The investigation is ongoing.
Second-Degree Burglary/Criminal Mischief x2/Theft/Third-Degree Criminal Trespass: Mountain Avenue – A woman returned to a local business after being trespassed, vandalized the bathroom mirror, stole items, then vandalized an employee’s vehicle in the parking lot. This was the woman’s 5th contact with deputies in the last few days. She stated she wanted deputies to arrest her because “she’s bored.” We obliged.
Family Problems: Berthoud – A juvenile called law enforcement and stated that her ex-boyfriend was yelling at her and throwing chairs in school. A safety plan was set in place.
Criminal Mischief: Heron Lakes Parkway – A resident returned home from a trip and found a window broken out into his basement. There were no signs anyone entered the residence.
Vehicle Pursuit: East Highway 56 – A stolen vehicle was found in a business parking lot. Two males ran into the car when deputies arrived for an extra patrol. A pursuit was started southbound on I-25 and terminated near the Mead exit for public safety.
Second-Degree Assault/Domestic Violence: 8th Street- A male and female were both intoxicated and yelling at each other. Deputies responded to two calls for the verbal disturbances with nothing criminal substantiated. On a third call, the woman was taken to the hospital for injuries and the man was arrested and taken to the Larimer County Jail for second-degree assault and domestic violence.

Felony Warrant Arrest: East Highway 56 – A woman was contacted and found to have a warrant for her arrest. She was subsequently booked at the Weld County Jail.
Motor Vehicle Accident with Injuries: Hwy 56 & County Road 1 – A vehicle pulled out onto Highway 56 in front of another vehicle, causing a collision.

Warrant Arrest: Hwy 56 – Deputies contacted a man at a business and found that there was a warrant for his arrest. He was subsequently booked into jail on his warrant.
