Verbal Disturbance/Mental Health: East Iowa Avenue – A woman was contacted at her residence and transported to the hospital for a voluntary mental health hold.
Harassment/Domestic Violence: Urban Place – A woman reported that her common-law husband had sent her a video threatening to destroy items due to her cheating. Upon further investigation, some items were found to be destroyed. The man was contacted and arrested. The Victim Rights Team was notified.
Wednesday, March 2
Business Assist: Mountain Avenue – A local business reported that a disgruntled customer made veiled threats after they would not issue a refund for services completed. Upon contact with the customer, the customer denied that he meant it to be threatening and no criminal charges could be substantiated. The customer was told to discontinue communication with the business.
Motor Vehicle Accident: Clayton Place – A male driver stated he was looking at the car radio, drifted off the side of the road, and struck a parked car. The driver was issued a summons for Careless Driving into Berthoud Municipal Court. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. There were no injuries.
Thursday, March 3
Motor Vehicle Accident: Mountain Avenue, – A male driver collided with a parked vehicle as he was looking at his phone. The at-fault driver was cited for Careless Driving.
Juvenile Problems – Berthoud Parkway – Two juveniles got into a physical altercation at the skatepark. Both sides accused the other of bullying. The School Resource Officer was requested to assist with mediation.
Friday, March 4
Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft/Failure to Yield/Reckless Driving/Road Rage Incident/Leaving the Scene of an Accident: 3800 East Highway 56 – Initially reported as a road rage incident involving a white BMW with Tennessee plates at a local business, Upon arrival, deputies observed a vehicle matching the description with no plates exiting the parking lot. The vehicle stopped on the southbound on-ramp for Interstate 25 along with another silver-colored sedan, possibly another BMW without plates. Both vehicles took off before contact could be made and failed to yield when a traffic stop was initiated. The vehicle fled southbound onto Interstate 25 and aggressively merged into traffic almost causing an accident. No pursuit was initiated due to heavy traffic and safety to the public. While attempting to turn around at the Mead exit due to construction, the aftermath of a motor vehicle accident was observed with both vehicles. The white BMW was dumped on the extended shoulder with everyone moving to the silver BMW and fleeing southbound on I-25. A deputy stayed with the white BMW and awaited back-up. Multiple agencies responded and the vehicle was cleared. The white BMW was confirmed stolen out of Fort Collins Police Services. The BMW was processed and released. The other silver BMW is believed to also be a stolen vehicle.
Hit and Run/Criminal Mischief: East County Road 8 – A vehicle hit a mailbox on private property and left the scene of the accident, causing approximately $200.00-300.00 damage to the mailbox and pillar.

Warrant Arrest: Katmai Court – A man was booked at the Larimer County Jail on two felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant after being contacted.

Second-Degree Burglary/Theft/Criminal Mischief: 1st Street – A resident reported an unknown person kicked open a secured barn door on her property and stole a $400.00 chop saw.
Tuesday, March 8
Violation of a Restraining Order/Harassment/Domestic Violence: Capitol Avenue – A female sent her ex-husband numerous harassing text messages in violation of a protection order. The woman was booked at the Larimer County Jail.
Trespassing: Mountain Avenue: A man was issued a summons for trespassing at the Berthoud Business Park after being warned in writing he could not loiter on the property.
Vehicular Eluding: 3800 E Hwy 56 – A dark red 2016-2019 Chevrolet Malibu was displaying a stolen registration plate at this location. The vehicle fled southbound on Interstate 25 to Mead, where the pursuit was terminated. The driver was a white female with long, curly brown hair. Two large dogs were in the back.
Assist to Weld County Sheriff’s Office: mile marker 253.5 Northbound I-25 – Deputies located a vehicle that fled from Weld County. The vehicle was just south of the county line, still in Weld County. Surveillance was maintained on the vehicle until Weld Deputies arrived and they took the driver into custody for Driving Under the Influence and other charges.
Wednesday, March 9
Theft/Embezzlement: Mountain Avenue – An employee of a local business placed $400+ worth of money on multiple different green cards without paying. The employee was contacted and issued a summons for theft. If you’re hiring, this person is looking for a new job.
Motor Vehicle Accident: County Road 8/Highway 56 – A driver collided with the back of another vehicle which ended up in a ditch and had to be towed. Both parties declined medical attention.
Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft: 631 Country Road Trail – A man advised that his blue 1988 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck was stolen from in front of his residence.
Motor Vehicle Accident: 1st Street – A vehicle had its blinker on to turn right and could not stop due to snowy and icy conditions. As a result, the vehicle broadsided another vehicle. No injuries.

Motor Vehicle Accident: 1st Street/Bunyan Avenue – A vehicle collided with another vehicle due to the roadway being icy. No injuries were reported. The at-fault driver was cited for Careless Driving
Friday, March 11
Vehicular Eluding: North Highway 287/Berthoud Parkway – A dark charcoal gray BMW M Series was contacted for no plates. A vehicle pursuit was initiated southbound at speeds in excess of 140 mph. The pursuit was discontinued for public safety.
Motor Vehicle Accident: North Highway 287 – Two vehicles were southbound in the 2001 block of North Highway 287 in Berthoud. It was reported that the front vehicle slammed on the brakes prior to the collision and the vehicle behind collided with the back of the vehicle. Both drivers declined medical attention.

Fraud: Berthoud – A man reported he was extorted for $300 by an unknown individual possibly in the Philippines in order to not publish a video on the internet.

Monday, March 14
Fraud: 3rd Street – A man paid $1,000 for puppies via Cash App. The address given for pick up was a different address in Berthoud. The homeowner at that address later called due to several upset people showing up for puppies.
Unattended Death: Harding Park Court – A man was found deceased after a welfare check was requested. Nothing suspicious, and the man had a history of medical issues.
Violation of a Protection Order: Urban Place – A man continued to contact a woman listed in a Protection Order. A warrant is forthcoming.
Theft: North Berthoud Parkway – A victim had $270 stolen from her belongings while she was at the pool at the Recreation Center. No suspect information.
Tuesday, March 15
Assist to EMS: West County Road 4- A man called EMS because he wanted to go to the hospital for complications from foot surgery earlier that day. EMS would not respond to the residence without law enforcement cover, which made the man even more agitated waiting for EMS. When EMS responded in with deputies, the man climbed into the ambulance himself but was excessive with his insults at deputies and also at Berthoud Fire. This guy calls for help and when help arrives he curses at them. Am I missing something?
Crimes Against At-Risk Adult/Third-Degree Assault: Auklet Drive – An elderly man was repeatedly punched in the head by his son. The suspect fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival.
Wednesday, March 16
Returned Runaway Juvenile: Berthoud – A juvenile was located in Berthoud after being reported as a runaway from Lafayette. He was returned to his mother at town hall after some family counseling.
Theft: 2nd Street – Staff from a local business reported a catalytic converter was cut off a truck parked on the business lot during the evening hours around 6:00 pm.
Warrant Arrest: 2nd Street – A man was contacted while deputies were investigating a disturbance and he was found to have a warrant for his arrest. He was booked at the Larimer County Jail.
Family Problems/Detox Hold: Southeast 4th Street – An adult female was intoxicated at her parents’ home and became physically aggressive with her mother, pushing and slapping her. She is visiting from out of state and is not welcome back at her parents’ home unless she is sober. She was involuntarily transported to the hospital.
Thursday, March 17
Shoplifting: East Highway 56 – A 6’5” man with a tattoo on his left hand and long black ponytail shoplifted items under $50 from a local business. He left in a 2002-2008 White Honda Accord with a black bug guard on the hood/bumper area. The vehicle had fictitious Wyoming plates on it.
Motor Vehicle Accident: West County Road 8/North Highway 287 – A vehicle ran a red light, causing a three-car collision. All vehicles had to be towed, nobody was injured. There were 3 young children in these vehicles and they were properly seated and none of them got hurt. One 5-year-old girl said about the other driver, “they must be having a bad day. Maybe I should talk to them about Jesus.” Out of the mouth of babes.
Friday, March 18
Theft: 7th Street – A male driver was contacted for no visible license plate. It was discovered that his valid temporary permit was stolen overnight while the vehicle was parked in front of his residence. Well, it was only on his vehicle temporarily.
Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident: Capital Avenue – A resident reported someone hit his vehicle during the night. A witness was located who stated they saw a silver Toyota FJ Cruiser hit the vehicle and flee. Should have been called in by the witness when it happened.
Unattended Death: Berthoud – Deputies responded to an assist to medical where a six-week-old was pronounced dead. Investigations, Coroner, Victim Response Team responded. The death appeared to be due to natural causes. Thoughts and prayers are needed for this family. A very sad day indeed.
Saturday, March 19
Trespass/Criminal Mischief: Michigan Avenue – A man was was heavily intoxicated and mistook the wrong address for his own. The man entered the residence through an unsecured basement window. After he was medically cleared, he was booked in at the Larimer County Jail. Oops, wrong house, my bad. don’t get up, I will see myself out. He eventually went to the right house, the big house.
Possession of Controlled Substances – Schedule I and II/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: 8th Street/Winding Brook Drive – A man was contacted in a vehicle while asleep at the wheel. A search revealed a user amount of methamphetamine in addition to other prescription medication he did not have a prescription for and 3 methamphetamine pipes. The man was issued a summons and released on scene.
Mental Health Hold: Berthoud – A juvenile female made actions towards committing suicide but was stopped by family. She was transported to the hospital and placed on a mental health hold.
Theft: West County Road 14 – A woman called to report her rear license plate was stolen.
Theft: Hammond Court – A homemade dump trailer was stolen from private property. The trailer was painted gray with a red hydraulic cylinder on the front.
Sunday, March 20
Criminal Mischief: Franklin Avenue – A man reported that a fellow resident of the facility threatened to shoot up the facility. Upon contact, the man claimed to be unable to hear. He later denied having made any threats and was advised that future threats may result in arrest. Staff and residents were advised to report further incidents.
Recovered Stolen License Plate: Douglas Place, – A stolen license plate was located on a trailer in front of this residence. The trailer did not have a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and deputies removed the license plate. The owner was contacted and advised; he was unaware the plate was stolen.
Unattended Death 7th Street – A man was found deceased in his home during a welfare check. Nothing suspicious was noted and the man had an extensive medical history.

Monday, March 21
Unattended Death: Cooperland Boulevard – An adult family member reported that her father had sent a suicidal email. Upon a welfare check, a male was located deceased at this residence. Investigations, the Victim’s Response Team, and the Coroner’s Office responded.
Burglary/Suspicious Circumstances: Lake Avenue – A female resident reported that someone had been breaking into her home and stealing cat food, canned goods, and other miscellaneous items. Upon investigation, there were no signs of someone breaking in. The scene was photographed and the neighborhood was canvassed. Wait a minute, I know what you’re thinking and no it was not the cat burglar.
Felony/Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest: East Highway 56 – An individual was contacted at a local business and found to have two warrants. Booked in at the Larimer County Jail.
Found Property: Mountain Avenue – Credit card was located and logged in at the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Evidence Room under found property.
Tuesday, March 22
Non-Injury Motor Vehicle Accident: East Highway 56 – A driver backed his semi into a spot and hit an RV with his side mirror causing damage.
Harassment: Berthoud – A juvenile reported her foster mother was extremely intoxicated and kicked her in the face, pushed her into a dresser, and dragged her off her bed. The foster mother denied the allegations and Child Protective Services responded and assisted in creating a safety plan for the juvenile and her brother. The foster mother was booked at the Larimer County Jail.
Non-Injury Motor Vehicle Accident: Mount Meeker Avenue – A vehicle was parallel parked and attempted to back up to enter the roadway. In the process of doing so, the driver backed into another vehicle, causing damage to the front driver-side of the other vehicle. Owners of each vehicle exchanged information and the owner of the vehicle that was hit notified law enforcement 16 hours later. There used to be a conversation when stuff like this happens between 2 people which includes someone saying “we probably should call the police”.
Wednesday, March 23
Vehicular Eluding: Mountain Avenue/Berthoud Parkway – A traffic stop was attempted on a 2002-2012 gray Nissan Maxima after it tried to drive northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 287 directly towards a deputy. It then, before the stop was initiated, sped up to 80 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. A stop was attempted, and the vehicle fled east on Mountain Ave to I-25 where it went into the construction zone. The pursuit was ended at the roundabout as the suspect went into the construction zone. It then was observed going into oncoming traffic on the southbound off-ramp of I-25. The vehicle made a U-turn and was last seen southbound on I-25.

Theft of Mail: West Hill Drive – A resident reported that mail was taken from his mailbox during the evening hours.
Burglary: Tenderfoot Drive – A home currently under construction was entered and $500 of copper wire and a showerhead fixture were taken. Tenderfoot? Nope it must have been a snake belly of a greenhorn coyote that did this.

Warrant Arrest x 2: Petrel Drive – A female was contacted at her residence for two misdemeanor traffic warrants and booked at the Larimer County Jail
Warrant Arrest: East Highway 56 – A female was contacted and arrested on a felony parole warrant. She was booked at the Weld County Jail.
Reckless Endangerment/Mental Health: Blue Mountain Avenue – A female called to report that her landlord/roommate was having a mental health crisis, was high, and was shooting a gun inside the house. A contact team was formed to safely remove the female. The male surrendered without incident and was placed on a mental health hold and summonsed for reckless endangerment.
Sunday, March 27
Vehicle Theft: Caballero Street – A female reported she had a 2003 Honda XR70 motorcycle stolen overnight from her barn. This motorcycle was later located and returned to the owner.
Violation of a Protection Order/Mental Health Hold: Ten Gallon Drive – A female was involved in a physical disturbance with her boyfriend. The female was located after having consumed approximately 180 anti-anxiety pills and alcohol in an apparent suicide attempt. The female was taken to the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

1st Degree Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft/Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Prairiestar Drive/Cooperland Boulevard – An excavating company reported that over the weekend a Caterpillar tractor had been stolen from a construction site near this intersection. The tractor had a GPS tracking device on it which pinged south, near Longmont. A man was located near the pinged address, operating the tractor. He advised he had purchased it through Facebook Marketplace the previous night, which did not coincide with the GPS pings, and he could not provide any additional info regarding the purchase. The man was booked at the Larimer County Jail for the above charges.
Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft/Recovered Stolen Vehicle: South Berthoud Parkway – A backhoe that was stolen over the weekend was recovered. The backhoe ran out of fuel, which is why it is believed it was dumped. The owner responded and took custody of the backhoe. An investigation is ongoing into the suspect, as it may be connected with the above tractor theft.
Fraud: Canyonlands Street – A woman reported she was fraudulently charged $247.66 on her credit card. She was supplied with identity theft protection resource information.
Fraud: 2nd Street – A business reported that someone forged a document that had a doctor’s signature on it. The investigation is ongoing.
Tuesday, March 29
Identity Theft: 6th Street – A man reported that his identity was being used to apply for a credit card. The man was provided identity theft protection information and was not out any money.
Felony Warrant Arrest: North Berthoud Parkway – During a traffic stop, a man was discovered to have a felony warrant out of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody and booked in at the Larimer County Jail.
Wednesday, March 30
Driving Under Revocation/Misdemeanor Warrant: County Road 8/Highway 287 – A male driver was contacted for driving a vehicle without plates. The man’s driving status was found to be revoked for an alcohol-related incident, in addition, he had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested and booked in at the Larimer County Jail.
Fraud/Scam: Biscayne Court – A resident received fraudulent paperwork regarding a tax lien that was placed on his property. The resident was not monetarily harmed and did not make payments towards this fraudulent tax lien.
Motor Vehicle Accident with Injuries: North Highway 287/West County Road 8 – A driver was traveling southbound on US Highway 287 and made a left turn to State Highway 56. She failed to yield the right of way to a northbound vehicle and a collision occurred at the intersection involving two other vehicles. The at-fault driver was cited. Please take a second and third look before crossing or turning at both Highway 287 intersections.

Third-Degree Assault/Domestic Violence: Wagon Bend Road – A man threw his keys with a key fob at his girlfriend, striking her in the face resulting in a black eye and a cut on her nose causing pain. The man was arrested and booked in at the Larimer County Jail. A victim’s rights advocate was requested to respond. Folks, show me anywhere it is written that it’s OK to throw things at your girlfriend hitting her in the face.
