Dec. 1, 2009

BFPD assisted a citizen on Redwood Circle.


Dec. 4, 2009

BFPD responded to a citizen request for assistance on Mount Massive Avenue.

Dec. 5, 2009
BFPD responded to a report of a propane tank on fire at a residence on 49th St. Upon arrival the fire had been extinguished.

BFPD assisted Loveland Fire with a reported structure fire on Danielle Court. The fire started in the wall behind a wood burning stove.  The fire was extinguished and the crew assisted with clean-up and moving furniture.


Dec. 6, 2009
BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a person having breathing difficulties. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 249. There were no reported injuries.

BFPD responded to a two car accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 250. There were no injuries involved in either vehicle.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 250. A single pickup truck had swerved into the median hitting cables causing damage to the truck.  There were no injuries.


Dec. 7, 2009

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Indiana Avenue for a person having diabetic problems.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a patient having seizures at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to Second Street for an elderly person who had fallen and was unable to get up. There were no medical problems or injuries as a result of the fall.

BFPD responded to a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for a patient who was having chest pain. The patient was transported.


Dec. 8, 2009

BFPD responded to a three vehicle accident on Interstate 25 @ mile marker 249. Two of the vehicles had moderate to heavy damage. There were no reported injuries.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Lela Street. The patient was experiencing dizziness and near fainting. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a fire alarm at Berthoud High School. This alarm was activated from burned food in the cafeteria. The alarm was reset and the students were allowed to return to classes.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a person who had fallen and was injured. The patient was transported.


Dec. 9, 2009

BFPD assisted Berthoud Police and TVEMS with a medical call for a person with hypothermia due to the cold weather. The patient had been in a motor vehicle accident in the area of Weld County Road 3 and Highway 56. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call on 14th Street for an elderly person having breathing difficulties. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with Loveland Fire to a vehicle accident on County Road 4 and Taft Avenue. Berthoud Fire assisted with roadside hazards.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a sick person at the post office. The patient was found on the floor, cold and having diabetic problems. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for diabetic problems on Nebraska Avenue.


Dec. 11, 2009

BFPD responded to a reported gas odor in the area of Highway 287 and County Road 4E. After investigation it was determined that the odor was some type of waste-by product, not a flammable gas.


Dec. 12, 2009

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Weld County Road 34. Upon arrival at the scene, a single unoccupied SUV was found on its top. There were no patients. The driver of the vehicle had left the scene and a tow truck came to tow the vehicle. The Colorado State Patrol was investigating the accident.


Dec. 13, 2009

BFPD responded to Seventh Street and Welch Avenue for a report of a gas odor in the area. There was a slight odor found in the area but the source of the odor was not determined.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for an unconscious person on South County Road 17. The patient was transported.



Dec. 16, 2009

BFPD assisted with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for an unconscious patient who was transported.

BFPD assisted with a medical call for a person who had fainted on Ninth Street. The patient was transported.


Dec. 17, 2009

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person found unconscious in a vehicle on West County Road  8. When the patient regained consciousness they denied any more treatment or transport to the hospital.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Indiana for an unconscious patient found lying on the floor. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call at the Five Stones Youth Center for a person who had accidentally hit a wall and was unconscious for several minutes. The patient was transported.


Dec. 18, 2009

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of Bunyan Ave and County Road    17. Upon arrival one car with heavy damage was found on its top on the ice approximately 55 feet from the lakes shore.  The dive rescue crew crawled out onto the frozen lake bed to check for injured patients. No patients were found after searching the vehicle, the hole in the ice nearby and the surrounding shore lines.  A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle.  The incident is under investigation.


Dec. 19, 2009

BFPD responded to an animal rescue on Martingale Drive. A horse in a stall area had caught and wedged its front left leg in between two panels. The panels were cut to free the horse’s leg which was profusely bleeding.  The bleeding was stopped while waiting for a veterinarian to respond to care for the horse.


Dec. 20, 2009

BFPD responded with TVEMS for a medical call on Fourth Street and Mountain Avenue.


Dec. 21, 2009

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Glenview Court for a person experiencing dizziness. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted Berthoud Police with a medical call on Third Street. The patient was transported.


Dec. 23, 2009

BFPD assisted with a medical call on Riverside Drive. for a report of a patient in seizures. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported gas odor inside a residence on Longview Avenue. Upon arrival and after investigation, the crew was unable to find any readings on the detector.


Dec. 24, 2009

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. A single vehicle was found in the median. There was no damage to the vehicle and there were no injuries.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Weld County Road 1 and Highway 56. A single vehicle had slid off the road into a telephone pole. There were no reported injuries.


Dec. 25, 2009

BFPD responded to a reported outside gas odor in the area of W. County Road   4 and Highway 287. Nothing was found in the area.


Dec. 27, 2009

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a sick person. The patient was transported.


Dec. 28, 2009

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person having seizures in a vehicle on Hwy 56 and Interstate 25. The patient was transported.
