My neighbors and I are concerned about fracking near our properties. Industry representatives tell us this practice is safe. We hear about millions of gallons of our precious water chemically poisoned and pumped into wells, never to be returned to the hydrologic cycle. Is this water purchaser from municipalities?
We’re told that we must build water storage because the front range is experiencing drought; why are we contaminating the water we have now? Is energy company profit more important than our water supply?
Where will the money come from if there is an accident? How long will the jobs created by this transient industry last? Who will pay for citizen health costs incurred? What will happen to real estate values near contaminated land?
Larimer County Commissioners seem convinced that we must allow fracking, that State regulators will protect our communities and homes from an investor driven industry. Be informed watch “Gasland [2]” the documentery. Gasland trailer on YouTube [3]
I trust that electing Karen is our hope to be protected from the ills of fracking, and serve us well as our Larimer County Commissioner.
