Local magician makes the golf ball disappear

DSC_0113Lloyd Mobley, a Berthoud resident for 16 years is perhaps better known as the “Great Lloydini” as he and his wife Linda performed their magic show in Berthoud and the surrounding area for many years. He has been playing golf most of his life but only taken it seriously since last summer. He spends most of his practice time at the Olde Course in Loveland, putting, chipping, hitting out of sand traps and driving on the range. Mobley says that he has been out there nearly four or five times weekly, even in the cold of the winter. “It takes dedicated practice to be good. Just playing on the course does not improve anyone’s game; practice, practice and more practice, that’s the secret,” he said.

“I developed a fairly good game simply by practicing and watching my friend, Dick Burns, who is a retired Pro golfer and professional caddie,” he added.

Mobley brought his magic to the Loveland Club Championship Golf Tournament last month and placed first in his flight. Here are the results of the tournament played Saturday and Sunday, July 13 and 14,
