Jeanette Marie Skendzel

Jeanette was well known around the country from the “Chet and Jeanette Band”. Chet and Jeanette played music together for 70 years; entertaining from Canada to Mexico, Jeanette with her quick wit, beautiful voice and banjo and Chet with his accordion. They were loved by many friends they met on their travels; and their music has been greatly missed since the passing of Jeanette’s partner (and beloved husband) Chet, last year.

The family is rejoicing that Chet and Jeanette are once again “Together Again”.

Jeanette’s other passion was her faith. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church in Wisconsin, California and Colorado, as well as a 30-year tertiary of the order of Carmelites of the Holy Face of Palmar de Troya, Seville, Spain. When she lost her sight, she started a ’hobby’ of making rosaries. Her ’hobby’ has resulted in the distribution of over 23,000 rosaries which have been shipped all over the world.

She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family. She is survived by her seven children: Sandy Smith (Chuck), Judy Mason (Don), Kathy Miller (Carl), Gary Skendzel (Lori), Roy Skendzel (Linda), Jack Skendzel (fiancé Jane), Betty Williams (Paul), 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters. Also preceding her in death are 1 granddaughter and 1 sister.

Graveside services will be held Monday August, 16, 2010 at the Berthoud Greenlawn Cemetery. A recitation of the rosary will be at 10:30, followed by the service at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to ‘Our Lady’s Rosary Makers’ in care of Kibbey- Fishburn Funeral Home (1102 Lincoln Ave, Loveland CO. 80537) so Jeanette’s ministry of rosary making may continue in her name.
