Monday, Dec. 8
A young female customer at the Derby Grill left her purse on the back of her chair while she went to the lady’s room and the purse was missing when she returned.
A call by a woman that someone had used her credit card at the Conoco Station led to quick action by Berthoud Police. Two and half hours after the call came in, police had an adult male in custody and transported him to the detention facility.
A caller from Keep Circle needed the assistance of the Code Enforcement Officer to deal with a boat and trailer still on the street.
Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Berthoud High School at 3:30 p.m.
She lost her iPod. A silver model with a sparkly blue cover was reported lost by an E. Michigan Ave. music lover.
A 5:30 p.m. two-car accident at Mountain Ave. and Third St. resulted in a female being transported to McKee Medical Center with complaints of neck and back pain.
A hit and run accident was reported from the Berthoud High School. The caller said his VW Passat was hit on the backside by a Ford diesel club cab pickup with a female driver. He apparently noted the license number of the truck and a report is to follow.
Tuesday, Dec. 9
Officers made two traffic stops and attended to two motor vehicle accidents. The first accident took place at 5:30 p.m. at First St. and Mountain Ave. when a red Ford F150 hit a green Volkswagen Passat. There were no injuries. The second incident was a hit and run in the 300 block of E. Iowa Ave.
Wednesday, Dec. 10
A wallet apparently belonging to Kelly Farrell was found at the transfer station and turned over to Berthoud Police.
Police exercised an arrest warrant for a party in the 600 block of Sixth St.
Thursday, Dec. 11
Listed as a suspicious circumstance is a report from the 200 block of So. First St. that a lady drove up and went through all the mailboxes. She told an onlooker that she was looking for mail for Mile High Waste.
One Berthoud officer and one sheriff’s deputy responded to the call of two dogs at large at Berthoud Village.
A caller wanted to talk to the Chief of Police about the police department’s interpretation of a municipal ordinance, but was informed the was not on duty that evening.
Friday, Dec. 12
A female caller from S. Eighth St. was concerned about a male in a black vehicle who had been sitting outside for an hour. She reported he had all been there the previous day. He was gone when police arrived.
Police took a report on a hit and run incident when a driver noticed a dent in his car after he returned home from the NAPA Auto Parts store.
Following a cell phone call about a reckless driver coming into town on Highway 56, police caught up with a minor driver from Johnstown and issued a warning.
A South Second St. resident called to report that she found a kitten. No further details, a report is to follow.
A local man was willing to sign a complaint about a silver Subaru sedan “weaving” in the vicinity of Mountain Ave. and First St. Police were unable to locate the vehicle, which was registered to an address in Highland Ranch.
Saturday, Dec. 13
Someone thought it was a problem that three kids were playing on a frozen Roberts Lake, but canceled the call when the kids left.
It was a white Ford Escort verses a white Ford F350 at the intersection of SE Third St. and E. Colorado Ave. There were no injuries; the condition of the vehicles is not stated.
A resident of the 400 block of Indiana Ave. found things missing after a visit by relatives.
Police took necessary action when they received a report of an older man and a young girl panhandling and selling candles out of a van while parked in the 900 block of Mountain Ave.
Sunday, Dec. 14
A Jeep driving recklessly through the empty lots in the 200 block of E Turner Ave. was gone when police arrived.
A 7 a.m. caller asked for the pickup of a cat in a trap in the 900 block of Third St.
