Monday, Nov.  24
A Mitsubishi Eclipse was damaged overnight while parked on Redwood Circle. Someone had placed paint all over the car.

In another case of criminal mischief, a window was broken out of heavy equipment on the construction site at Sixth St. and Mountain Avenue.

A vehicle driving in circles at the high school drew the attention of a passing officer. It turned out to be a mother teaching her daughter how to drive a stick shift. The car was recently purchased and they did not have a title. A warning was issued in the case.

Tuesday, Nov.  25
Berthoud Wine and Spirits reported a customer’s dog at the store, but they couldn’t remember the name of the customer. They decided to keep the dog and notify the owner when they remembered his name.

A lady walking on S. Eighth St. reported that a small dog ran out of a residence at her. The case culminated with a warning to the dog’s owners.

Wednesday, Nov.  26
A male shoplifter stole two steaks at Hays Market and made his escape in a red two door car. Police found a vehicle matching the description in the 500 block of Franklin Ave. The vehicle was towed away and the police changed location to the 900 block of Sixth St. No further information was available although a report is to follow.

A resident from the 600 block of S. Ninth St. reported a 125cc Yamaha dirt motorcycle had been stolen from his yard.

Thursday, Nov.  27
There were very few calls on Thanksgiving Day. Police assisted the Larimer County Sherriff at the high school and investigated three alarms.

Friday, Nov.  28
The Sherriff’s department was busy in Berthoud. They made 10 traffic stops and issued citations to all but one of the drivers.

Berthoud police responded to a report of a peeping Tom on Fourth St. The call came at 3:15 p.m. to report an incident the night before. The caller suspected her ex-husband.

Saturday, Nov.  29
As so often happens with a 1 a.m. traffic stop on Bunyan Ave., the vehicle was towed and the driver was taken into custody.

At 12:43 p.m. a caller from the 200 block of Bunyan Ave. reported having a Border Collie-mix dog in custody.

An unhappy customer who had been asked to leave the Derby Grille came back and was yelling at folks on the patio. He left again before an officer arrived.

Sunday, Nov.  30
A caller reported juveniles on scooters at the Berthoud Elementary School. The caller had seen them shaking the goal posts and was concerned they might damage something.

Police responded to an audible alarm at a home in the 100 block of E. Indiana Ave. The officer found the house unsecured, but found the homeowner at a neighbor’s house.
