Wednesday, Nov. 5

On an otherwise quiet day the Berthoud Police made eight traffic stops

 

Thursday, Nov. 6

Police were asked to assist in finding the owner of a truck that had apparently been stolen and was found in Adams County. A few hours later the owner called saying he had responded to a call from Adams County, but they had no record of his truck.

An alarm set off at a local bank turned out to have been triggered by the ATM service company.

A resident of the 1200 block of Aspen Dr. reported that unknown persons took a large envelope with cash and checks from her home.

 

Friday, Nov. 7

A resident of the 100 block of Welch Ave. told police that someone had left an insulting note in the mailbox. An hour and half later he called back to say his vehicle had been “egged.”

The caller reported finding a short, black German Shepherd-type dog near Franklin and Capital avenues. The report says it was a fat Corgie type dog with a deformed leg. Police issued a citation.

Police investigated an after school fight at Berthoud Elementary School

 

Saturday, Nov. 8

A homeowner in the 700 block of Holmes Place caught two juveniles throwing food on his house. He had them cleaning it up but wanted a police officer to speak with them.

Police were unable to locate three teens reportedly writing on the north wall of the Post Office building.

Shortly after 11 p.m., police responded to a report of someone sleeping in a car parked in the lot of a local eating and drinking establishment. The sleeping man was found to have a revoked driver’s license and the vehicle was towed.

 

Sunday, Nov. 9

A 1:43 a.m. traffic stop on north Fourth St. resulted in the driver failing the roadside sobriety test and led to the driver’s incarceration and having the vehicle towed.

Police investigated an overnight burglary at the Habitat for Humanity Thrift Store.

A driver reported from the 800 block of Franklin Ave. that someone had thrown a rock at his car and caused damage.

An anonymous male reported a constantly barking dog in the 600 block of Welch Ave. The responding officer reported that it was only barking at dogs passing by the house.

A business in the 800 block of Mountain Ave. reported that someone had stuffed rocks in the plumbing access at the back of the building.

A leaky water line was reported in the 800 block of Greenwood Dr.

A cargo trailer parked in the 1000 block of Fourth St. was entered and several items were reported missing.

A disturbance between a mother and daughter on Third St. resulted in one uncooperative female being taken to the Larimer County Detention Center.

 

Monday, Nov. 10

Police found the building secure when they responded to a 12:35 a.m. alarm at a Mountain Ave. business.

Someone apparently tried to get into Berthoud High School over the weekend. The handle to the door at the back of the lunchroom had been pulled off and thrown into the nearby bushes.

A Nebraska Ave. resident reported that a bicycle had been in a field across the street for the last three days. Police picked up the bicycle.

After a male roommate moved out, a woman on South Second St. noticed her pearls were missing and reported this to the police.
