Poudre flooding closes Greeley roads

River Flooding Prompts Greeley Public Works to Close 35th Avenue & Poudre River Trail.

The Cache La Poudre River through Greeley continues to run at or near flood stage due to rain and snowmelt. As a result, Greeley’s public works department has now added 35th Avenue between F Street and O Street to the list of closed streets.

These Greeley Streets remain closed: 6th Ave from 5th St. to the Poudre River bridge; 71st Ave from Poudre River Ranch north to O Street; 83rd Ave and 95th Avenues from C Street to O Street.

Poudre River Trail – current conditions:

In the Greeley area these areas are currently closed:

– Trail from 25th Avenue to west of 35th Avenue

– Trail at Rover Run Dog Park closed due to damage;

– Trail from east of 59th Avenue beyond 71st Avenue including the trailhead at 71st Avenue.

In the Windsor area these areas are currently closed:

– Hwy 257 east to Kodak bridge

-West of CR17, southwest of Eastman Park

– West of CR 13 to Hwy 392

Other trail sections may have water on them as well as mud and debris from the flooding. Trail users are advised to stay away from closed sections and to use caution in areas that are not closed but may have mud and debris on or along the trail. Cleanup and repairs will begin as soon as flood waters recede. Some trail damage may take 30 days or more to repair and reopen.
