Scales Installation Project to Begin at Landfill

Larimer County, Colorado—Beginning January 1, 2011, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations require us to report the weight of trash being dumped at the Larimer County Landfill. Incoming vehicles will be required to weigh in as they enter and weigh out as they exit. This requires us to install scales, and will bring us into compliance with EPA regulations. The installation of scales at the Larimer County Landfill will begin Monday, August 30, 2010, and is estimated to take two months to complete.
Traffic will be diverted around the north side of the shop building and will exit on the south side of the building. Signs will be installed to direct the flow of traffic. We anticipate minimal disruption to our customers and all services will continue as usual. The hours of operation will remain at Monday through Saturday, 8 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. We will continue to charge per cubic yard of trash during the construction phase and continuing after completion.
The work is being performed by Connell Resources, Inc. and Alliance Electric, Inc. in conjunction with the Larimer County Engineering Department.
We appreciate the public’s patience and support through both the construction phase and implementation of the new traffic flow.
