A controlled ditch burn at the Salomonson farm on Tuesday afternoon burned a little more than planned. After jumping the ditch the fire spread quickly to approximately four acres of dry grass before the Berthoud fire fighters from nearby Station 2 arrived to help extinguish the flames.
