48 Star Flag Dedicated at Berthoud High School
By Thomas N. The United States flag has had 50 stars since 1960, yet today a flag that bares only 48 stars was returned to its home at Berthoud High School. The flag has traveled from New York to California and numerous states in-between, but was first flown in Berthoud. The flag originally flew outside of the old Berthoud Junior-Senior High School, now Turner Middle School. The flag was returned to Berthoud High School in an impressive ceremony on Friday. Boys Basketball Falls to Eaton
Spartans come up short late, lose 65-59 By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer Tuesday night in the Berthoud High School gym the Spartan boys basketball team fell to the Eaton Reds 65-59. The loss drops Berthoud to 3-7 on the year and 0-2 in the Patriot League. The Spartans battled all game long, taking a 48-48 tie into the fourth and final period of the game. Flag Dedication at Berthoud High School A piece of local history will be dedicated in the Berthoud High School auditorium on Friday, January 21, at 10:00 a.m. A 48-star American flag, which used to hang in the auditorium at the old Berthoud Junior-Senior High School, was recently returned to the high school after a 48-year absence.
