Spartans fall to Platte Valley 67-54 By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer A 24-point fourth period was not enough for the Berthoud Spartan boys basketball team on Friday night in the Berthoud High gym. The Spartans fell to the Platte Valley Broncos 67-54. The loss drops the Spartans season record to 5-8 overall and 3-3 in the 3A Patriot League. Spartans edge Northridge 59-57 By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud Spartan boys basketball earned their first victory of the young 2010-11 season in thrilling fashion on Friday night in the Berthoud High gym. The Spartans rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to top the Northridge Grizzlies 59-57.
