Eagles Power Past Rush in Fight for First Place

RAPID CITY, S.D. - The Colorado Eagles defeated the rival Rapid City Rush, 7-3, on the strength of four power play goals. The win puts the two teams in a tie for first place in the Turner Conference, however Colorado has a game in hand. With the win, the Eagles went 9-3-0 in the season series against the defending champs. Colorado jumped out to a 2-0 lead in just over six minutes. Eagles Ruin Rush Streaks, Gain Ground With 6-2 Win

  LOVELAND, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles overcame an early goal against to stop Rapid City's 13-game win streak and Danny Battochio's personal nine-game win streak with a convincing 6-2 triumph. The win brought Colorado within a point of the Rush for the top spot in the Turner Conference, with the Eagles owning a game in hand. Rapid City's winning streak at 11, Battochio's at eight RAPID CITY, S.D. - The Rapid City Rush remained in first place atop the Turner Conference with a 3-0 shutout of the Colorado Eagles, who could have leapfrogged the defending champs with a win in regulation. Danny Battochio handed the Eagles their first shutout of the season, stopping 30 shots in all.
