Lady Spartans win third straight game By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer A three-week layoff did not affect the Berthoud High girls basketball team on Friday night as they topped Mead 50-34 in the Berthoud High School gym. The victory was the Spartans third consecutive and improves the team’s season record to 6-2. Berthoud tops Fort Morgan 16-14
Spartans win third in a row with late touchdown By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud Spartan football team made their second trip of the season to the eastern plains on Friday night for a contest with the Fort Morgan Mustangs at Legion Field. The Spartans battled all game long and won with a late touchdown. The nail-biting 16-14 victory improves Berthoud to 3-2 on the season as they prepare to begin conference play next week. Spartans now 2-0 in Soccer
Coach Jon Barron's squad brought home another decisive victory as they defeated Roosevelt 7-4. Berthoud led 3-2 at the half on goals by Ayala, Beltran and Berra. Berthoud added four more goals in the second period with two scores by Karlsen with Beltran and Ayala each scoring. Roosevelt is now 1-1 while Berthoud is 2-0.
