Incident Summary, March – April 2011

 

Thursday, March 3

BFPD assisted Thompson Valley Emergency Medical Service (TVEMS) for a person who had fallen and was complaining of left hip and shoulder pain in the 200 block of Second Street. The patient was transported.

 

Friday, March 4

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a patient in the 600 block of Welch Avenue for possible diabetic problems. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a sick person in the 500 block of Redwood Circle. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted an individual who came to  firehouse at 275 Mountain Avenue and requested to have their blood pressure checked. The patient was transported by TVEMS.

 

Saturday, March 5

BFPD call was cancelled while en route to a motor vehicle accident at Valley Dirt Riders.

BFPD call was cancelled while en route to a patient having a possible seizure on Settler Ridge Drive.

 

Sunday, March 6

BFPD responded to a gas odor investigation in the 600 block of Mountain Avenue. Readings showed no indication of gas, the scene was cleared.

BFPD responded to a call for a female complaining of abdominal pains in the 500 block of South Ninth Street. The patient was transported.

 

Monday, March 7

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at 6100 W County Road 4. The driver was extricated and transported.

BFPD responded to a female who had fallen in the 3200 block of Branding Iron Way. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at Weld County Road 1 and E County Road 4. The patient was extricated and transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at 2200 N Highway 287. Berthoud crews evaluated the wreck for hazards. The patient refused transport and crew departed, leaving the scene with Berthoud Police.

BFPD responded to a call for smoke and loud noise in the 900 block of Kansas Avenue. The crew found a diesel motor running, units cleared scene.

BFPD responded to 900 S Wilson Avenue to act as backup for Loveland Fire Station 3 .

 

March 8

BFPD was en route to a car fire on I-25 MM 251 when the call was canceled by the Colorado State Patrol; there was no fire present.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at 1525 S HWY 287. The patient was checked for injuries and the scene checked for hazards.

BFPD responded to a possible cardiac arrest at Berthoud Living Center. Berthoud Fire assisted TVEMS.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at S County Road 21. The driver was checked for injuries and traffic was controlled.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at 699 County Road 23E. The patient stated they had no injuries and refused transport

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at S HWY 287 and Yellowstone Road. Longmont and Berthoud Fire assisted and the patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at S HWY 287 and Yellowstone Road. Neither party was injured, Berthoud cleared scene.

 

March 9

BFPD responded to a medical in the 500 block of Seventh Street for a female who had fallen and needed help getting up. Berthoud assisted and left the scene.

BFPD responded to a medical for a person who had fainted in the 1100 block of Jefferson Drive. Thompson Valley EMS assisted the patient.

 

March 10

BFPD responded to a medical in the 400 block of Bimson Avenue. Berthoud Fire remained to assist Berthoud Police, and then cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a smoke investigation at W County Road 4E and HWY 287. Nothing was found upon arrival at dispatched address.

BFPD was sent to a grass fire at Weld County Road 3 and Weld County Road 46. On arrival, it was found to be a controlled burn. Berthoud assisted the permit holder and cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at the 253 mile marker of the I-25 Frontage Road. While en route, Berthoud was notified that the incident was in another fire district.

 

March 11

BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide investigation in the 1100 block of Madison Avenue. Berthoud Fire monitored the air, found no readings and replaced the batteries.

BFPD was sent to a grass fire at Weld County Road 7 and E HWY 60. The fire was approximately 30 feet by 30 feet in size. Berthoud fire fighters put the fire out and cleared the scene.

BFPD responded to reports of a smoke column at 402 N County Road 27E. It was determined this was smoke from the Boulder wildfire.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-25 MM 250. No injuries or hazards were found, all units cleared scene.

BFPD responded to a smoke investigation call from the 400 block of Meadowlark Lane by an officer. Berthoud Fire investigated with him and found it to be smoke originating from the Lyons wildfire.

BFPD responded to a medical emergency in the 300 block of Massachusetts Avenue for a female with breathing problems. Thompson Valley evaluated the patient.

BFPD responded to the 1200 block of Steamboat Valley Drive to assist Lyons with a fire. When Berthoud arrived on scene, Lyons stated they had it under control and cleared us from the scene.

BFPD responded to a medical call in the 1000 block of Glenview Drive for a person with breathing problems. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a grass fire at 1319 Weld County Road 36. The fire was approximately 90 feet by 120 feet in size. Berthoud crews extinguished the fire.

BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm in the 15200 block of N 83rd Street. The call was cancelled while the equipment was en route.

 

March 12

BFPD responded to a medical in the 800 block of W County Road 4E for a patient with chest pains. The patient was transported.

 

Monday, March 14

BFPD responded to a medical in the 200 block of  Mountain Avenue for a patient complaining of pains in his ribs. The patient was transported.

 

Tuesday, March 15

BFPD responded to an odor investigation/smoke outside at S County Road 21 and N County Line road. A large plume of smoke was found outside of Berthoud’s District. Dispatch was notified.

 

BFPD responded to a trash fire at Weld County Road 3 and Weld County Road 36. Crews extinguished the fire.

 

Thursday, March 17

BFPD responded to a medical in the 800 block or Franklin Avenue. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical in the 400 block of Franklin Avenue. Response was cancelled just as crews arrived on scene.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-25 MM 254. While en route, the response was cancelled.

 

Friday, March 18

BFPD responded to a medical call in the 900 block of N County Road 19. Crews temporarily staged outside, then the units were cleared from the scene by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

BFPD responded to a medical call in the 900 block of N County Road 19 for a patient who had fainted. Crews remained on scene for a period of time, then were cleared.

BFPD responded to a bonfire in the 800 block of County Road 23E. The fire was extinguished.

BFPD responded to a medical call in the 800 block of Franklin Avenue for a patient who had fallen. The patient was transported.

 

Saturday, March 19

BFPD responded to a medical call for a patient complaining of chest pains in the 1400 block of Fourth Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call in the 800 block of Franklin Avenue. BFPD assisted TVEMS.

 

Monday, March 21

BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm in the 1100 block of Madison Avenue. The batteries were replaced after no readings of carbon monoxide were found.

BFPD responded to a medical call in the 1500 block of Willow Drive. Thompson Valley EMS evaluated the patient and released Berthoud Fire from the scene.

 

Tuesday, March 22

BFPD responded to a medical call in the 6300 block of W County Road 4. The patient was transported.

 

Wednesday, March 23

BFPD responded to a gas odor investigation in the 1000 block of Arapahoe Avenue. Instrument readings indicated no gas present, the house was ventilated.

 

Thursday, March 24

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident without injuries in the 3800 block of W County Road 8. The scene was checked for hazards.

BFPD returned to the scene of the motor vehicle accident in the 3800 block of W County Road 8 for a patient complaining of back and neck pain. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire at I-25 and Weld County Road 46. Upon arrival crews found that it was a controlled burn.

BFPD responded to a grass fire at W County Road 2E and S US HWY 287. Crews found a small 1×1 foot grass fire. Crews extinguished the fire with hand tools.

 

Friday, March 25

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at 720 N County Road 27E. Party was checked for injuries and the scene was left with Colorado State Patrol.

 

Saturday, March 26

BFPD responded to a possible residential structure fire at I-25 and Weld County Road 44. Response was cancelled en route after being notified that this was a controlled burn in the area.

BFPD responded to a grass-wildland fire in the 2300 block of Weld County Road 1. Upon arrival crews found that it was a controlled burn that had gotten into some cottonwood trees. Crews extinguished the tree fire

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at 850 Spartan Avenue. Response was cancelled en route by Thompson Valley EMS.

BFPD responded to a grass fire on I-25 MM 248. Crews found a 1 acre grass fire and worked with Mountain View Fire to extinguish.

 

Tuesday, March 29

BFPD responded to a grass fire at N Hwy 287 and Yellowstone Road. Crews extinguished the fire and cleared scene.

BFPD responded to a grass fire reported at 2304 W County Road 10. The crews found a small rubbish pile on fire and extinguished it.

 

Thursday, March 31

BFPD responded to a grass fire at 3801 Weld County Road 46. The crew found it was a controlled burn.

BFPD responded to an outside smoke call at the I-25 Frontage Road and Weld County Road 44. The smoke was coming from a small controlled burn.

BFPD responded for a gas odor investigation at 202 E Iowa Avenue. No emergency was found, the resident’s pilot light had gone out.

BFPD responded to an outside smoke report at 2335 Weld County Road 1. Crews found that the remains of a cottonwood tree that had burned on March 28 had reignited. Crews extinguished the fire.
