Incident activity for July 2013

Monday, July 1

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire on North County Road 15C. The fire crew found a pile of burning mattresses and the responsible party extinguishing the fire. The fire crew explained the burn ban that is in affect and that burning mattresses is illegal. Berthoud Police responded to the scene for further investigation.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Iowa Ave. The patient was transported.

Tuesday, July 2

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The resident was transported.

BFPD responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on County Road 23. The driver of a pickup truck had lost control and went through a fence and down an embankment with the vehicle landing on its top. There were no injuries reported.

Thursday, July 4

BFPD responded to a medical call for a bicyclist down in the area of 83rd St. and Deer Run. The rider was transported.

BFPD responded to a report of smoke in the area of Longview Ave. The fire crew was not able to find any smoke in the area.

BFPD assisted a citizen on Bothun Road.

Friday, July 5

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Jay Place. The person was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on West County Road 10.

Saturday, July 6

BFPD assisted a citizen on Michigan Avenue with their smoke detectors.

BFPD assisted a citizen on Oak Street with their carbon monoxide detector.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a sick person on the Interstate. The individual was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a person with a dislocated hip on West County Road 4. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. A car had left the highway and rolled, the vehicle and was found resting on its top. The Johnstown police witnessed the occupant fleeing from the car into a nearby field.

BFPD responded to a single motorcycle accident on N. 83rd Street. The rider was transported.

Monday, July 8

BFPD responded to a medical call on W. County Road 10E. The call was cancelled by Larimer County Sheriff’s Office as no assistance was necessary.

Tuesday, July 9

BFPD responded to a medical call on Second Street for a person who had fallen and sustained a laceration above the eye.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call for a bee sting reaction on Eighth St.

BFPD assisted Loveland Fire with a structure fire on a commercial building on North Lincoln Ave.

Wednesday, July 10

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. This was a two vehicle rear-end collision. One patient was extricated and transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Larimer County Road 2E. A female sitting on the side of the roadway was transported for dehydration.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Nebraska Ave.

Thursday, July 11

BFPD responded to a report of a fire in the area of Weld County Road 7 and County Road 38. The crew searched the area but was unable to find a fire.

Friday, July 12

BFPD responded to a medical call for chest pains at the Berthoud Living Center. The crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and the patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 251. This was a two-vehicle accident with minor damage and one person was injured.

BFPD responded to a medical call for chest pain on Eagle Pass Road. When TVEMS arrived the fire crew assisted with medical care and the patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 on the Frontage Road. This was a three-car accident with minor to heavy damage. Two occupants were injured.

Saturday, July 13

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on Sixth St.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Welch Ave. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm on Snowy Egret Lane. The alarms were activated but there were no signs of fire or smoke. The crew replaced a backup battery in one of the units.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call for a person choking on Seventh St. By the time the crew arrived, the person had dislodged the object and no further medical care was needed.

BFPD responded to an animal rescue for a horse that was stuck in a ditch on Blue Mountain Avenue. The fire crew was able to attach straps to the horse’s legs and pulled the horse from the ditch. The veterinarian arrived and the horse was expected to recover.

Monday, July 15

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 252. The vehicle had rolled several times and one person was ejected from the vehicle. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with patient care. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a residential fire alarm on N. Fourth St. The smoke detectors had been activated by smoke from burnt food. There were no other signs of fire in the residence.

Tuesday, July 16

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on East Highway 60.

BFPD responded to a possible residential structure fire on South Eighth St. However, there were no visible signs of smoke or fire. The property owner explained that a small pan on the stove had been on fire. The crew inspected the residence and no further damage was found.

Wednesday, July 17

BFPD responded to a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. There was minor to moderate damage to the vehicles and no injuries were reported.

BFPD responded to a two car, rear end collision on Interstate 25 at mile marker 250. There was minor damage to the vehicles and one party reported an injury.

BFPD responded to a grass fire on the east side of the interstate near the frontage road. The fire was being extinguished when the crew arrived.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center.

Friday, July 19

BFPD responded to a single vehicle accident on Interstate 25. The vehicle had moderate damage, there were no injuries reported. The fire crew established traffic control until a tow truck removed the vehicle from the road.

Saturday, July 20

BFPD responded to a single vehicle accident on Interstate 25. A small pickup with moderate damage was found in the center median. The driver was out of the vehicle and uninjured.

BFPD responded to the Valley Dirt Rider tract for an injured motorcyclist. The patient was treated on scene by TVEMS.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Seventh St.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a walk in medical call at Fire Station 1 on Mountain Ave. The patient was injured and was transported.

Sunday, July 21

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person on Lakritz St who had fallen.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on White Water Court.

Tuesday, July 23

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire near Interstate 25. The crew was unable to find a fire in the area.

BFPD responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 254. The call was cancelled enroute.  A broken down vehicle was found when TVEMS arrived to the scene.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on County Road 23E. This was a single vehicle accident. The vehicle was found off the west side of the road south of County Road 4, with moderate damage and no injuries. The vehicle struck 2 horses in the nearby field.

Wednesday, July 24

BFPD responded to a citizen request for assistance on Glen Drive.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25. One passenger was injured.

BFPD responded to a report of a fire in the backyard of a residence on Iowa Ave. The fire crew found a fire that was out and cold.

Thursday, July 25

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Horseshoe Circle.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Second Street. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on North County Road 23.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Horseshoe Circle.

Friday, July 26

BFPD responded to Dove Lane for a female patient who was unconscious and not breathing. Upon arrival the woman was found to be deceased. The scene was turned over to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a possible stroke victim on Thundering Peaks Drive. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care and the patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Douglas Place. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

Saturday, July 27

BFPD responded to a report of a smoldering pile of mulch on Weld County Road 5. The fire crew found the pile unattended and they extinguished the fire.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 287. A single vehicle was found off the roadway, unoccupied. The vehicle had blown a front tire.

Sunday, July 28

BFPD responded to a reported grass fire in the area of West County Road 18E in Loveland. The crews were unable to find a fire. This was reported possibly due to low hanging clouds in the area.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a possible stroke victim on Willow Drive. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with medical care. The patient was transported.

BFPD assisted a citizen on Fifth Street with a faulty smoke detector.

BFPD responded to a single vehicle accident on Weld County Road 46. There was no damage to the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

Monday, July 29

BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Malibu Drive. The crew used the air monitor and no CO was found. The alarm was a result of a malfunctioning detector.

Tuesday, July 30

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call on Second Street. The patient was transported.
