Incident Activity March 2017
Wednesday, March 1
Suspicious Circumstances: 800 block of Spartan Avenue, a window screen on the west side of the building was broken and appeared to have been forced open. There was no sign of entry into the and the window was secured.
Suspicious Circumstances: 500 block of Redwood Circle, a resident called in to report a man was in his front yard digging it up for unknown reasons. Upon investigation it was discovered the water department was working on the water meter.
Vehicle Theft: 200 block of 2nd Street, a resident called and reported his girlfriend just took his car without permission.
Suspicious Circumstances: 400 block of Meadowlark Drive, a man just passing through feels an undercover agent with Denver PD has been following him since 2000. He states the agent is contacting low level dealers around the country where he has lived and telling them that he is a sex offender, then telling the dealer the he is “ratting them out”. The man wanted the deputy to obtain a warrant for a cell phone number to find out if the number went to his cousin. The man also stated there was a female that was playing a song on her radio which he felt was a threat to him.
Animal Problem: 1400 block of Willow Drive, a resident called in about 2 or 3 dogs that were barking.
Driving with a Suspended License / Speeding: 7th Street and Mountain Avenue, a 39-year-old Berthoud man was stopped for speeding and found to have a suspended license.
Curfew Violation: 500 block of Bunyan Avenue, 3 juveniles were contacted in a vehicle in the parking lot of the school after curfew. All three admitted to sneaking out of their homes. Parents were notified and they picked up the children.
Thursday, March 2
Driving with a Suspended License / Speeding: 700 block of 1st Street, a 49-year-old Loveland man was stopped for speeding and found to have a suspended license.
Suspicious Circumstances: 700 block of Welch Avenue, a landlord reported the back storm door window on her vacant rental property was broken. The rear door was secure with no signs of forced entry. It appears the door was slammed shut by the wind, which shattered the window.
Friday, March 3
Warrant Arrest / Illegal Drug Use: 900 block of Mountain Avenue, a couple of Berthoud kids reported a man acting very strangely. A 30-year-old man was contacted and is suspected of “shooting up” heroin. The man also had a warrant and was arrested.
Saturday, March 4
Domestic Violence / Harassment / Criminal Mischief: 800 block of Longview Avenue, a 19-year-old Longmont man is suspected of damaging the door to the home and harassing his ex-girlfriend.
Alarm: 800 block of Bruce Drive, a very loud alarm was going off at this address.
Sunday, March 5
Trespass: Mountain Avenue and 3rd Street, 3 kids were contacted about the dangers of walking on the rail road tracks. BNSF railways requests no one trespass on the tracks and asked us to enforce this.
Medical Issue: 200 block of S CR17, a 16-year-old was transported to the hospital with self-inflicted injuries.
Harassment: Berthoud Skate Park, a group of guys in their 20’s were smoking what was believed to be marijuana out of a vape pen and being vulgar to the kids at the skate park.
Monday, March 6 Berthoud Fire responded to the 3200 block of Branding Iron Way for chest pains. TVEMS arrived and assumed patient care. Engine 16 assisted TVEMS with loading of the patient.
Tuesday, March 7
BFPD was dispatched to the 500 block of South 5th Street for a male having chest pains. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 3200 block of Branding Iron Way for a male who had fallen. Upon arrival the crew found the man laying in the driveway unable to get up. The Engine 2 crew and TVEMS assisted the patient to his feet.
BFPD was dispatched to the 200 block of Weld Cty Road 46 for a male having seizures. The patient care was turned over to TVEMS.
Wednesday, March 8
Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 1300 block of 1st Street for a medical assist. The patient was transported by TVEMS.
BFPD was dispatched to the 1200 block of Cedar Drive for a female who had fallen. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 500 block of E Cty Road 8 for a medical assist. TVEMS arrived on scene and patient care was transferred to the paramedics.
Thursday, March 9
Berthoud Engine 2 was dispatched for a citizen assist in the 4500 block of John Gault Street. The homeowner showed the crew a water leak in the back yard of a neighbor’s property. The crew attempted to make contact with the homeowner and was unsuccessful. Engine 2 located an outside valve and shut down the leaky line to the yard hydrant.
Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 1500 block of 4th Street for a medical call. TVEMS assumed patient care.
BFPD responded to the 500 block of S. 9th Street for a 35-year-old female having chest pains. Patient care was transferred to TVEMS.
Friday, March 10
Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 300 block of E. Michigan Avenue for detectors going off. The homeowner tried new batteries. The crew pulled down the detectors and the expiration date on them was Sept. 11, 2009. The crew advised the homeowner to purchase new detectors and the crew will come back and install them.
Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 1000 block of Wilshire Drive for a person who had fallen. The patient did not want to be transported.
Berthoud Fire responded to the 400 block of S. 8th Street for a medical call. The fire crew assisted TVEMS with packaging the patient for transport.
Monday, March 13
BFPD responded to the south end of Cty Road 23 and Larimer Cty Road 8 for a grass fire near a structure. Upon arrival Engine 26 found 2 small mulch piles smoldering in the backyard. The homeowner didn’t have a burn permit. The crew informed the homeowner about the proper channels to obtain one. Also, the homeowner was informed he had to put the fires out, to which he complied.
Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 4000 block of Fawn Trail for a 90-year-old woman who had fallen. TVEMS arrived and took over patient care.
Tuesday, March 14
BFPD responded to the 500 block of 9th Street for a person with seizures. The crew found a 25-year-old conscious and breathing. TVEMS arrived and assumed patient care.
Wednesday, March 15
Berthoud Fire responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 287 and Colorado 56 west of Berthoud. No injuries were reported. Read more here.
Berthoud Fire responded to the 300 block of Wilfred Road for a lift assist. TVEMS arrived on scene and patient care was transferred.
Thursday, March 16
BFPD responded to the 2500 block of Larimer Cty Road 21 for a single vehicle accident. A single vehicle was off the roadway into a tree. All parties were out of the vehicle, which had moderate damage. The scene was turned over to Colorado State Patrol.
Berthoud Engine 1 was dispatched to I-25 mm 252 SB for a 3-vehicle accident. One vehicle had moderate damage and the other 2 had minor damage. The crew assisted TVEMS with packaging and loading an injured vehicle occupant for transport.
Friday, March 17
Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the 800 block of Longview Avenue for female having seizures. TVEMS assumed patient care.
Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the 800 block of Franklin Avenue for a medical assist. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
Saturday, March 18
BFPD responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical assist.
Berthoud Engine 2 responded to the 600 block of Joyce Court for a person with chest pains. TVEMS arrived the same time and took command. Both crews loaded the patient for transport.
Monday, March 20
Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the 800 block of 13th Street for an 81-year-old man having a stroke. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
BFPD responded to the 500 block of Larimer Cty Road 8 for a medical. Command was transferred to TVEMS.
Berthoud Squad 11 was dispatched to the 500 block of Mountain Avenue for a medical. An 86-year-old man was having chest pains. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted in packaging the patient for transport.
Tuesday, March 21
Berthoud Fire responded to the 600 block of Pyramid Peaks for a citizen assist. Berthoud Squad 11 checked and put in new battery’s in the homeowner’s smoke detectors.
Friday, March 24
Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.
Saturday, March 25
BFPD was dispatched to 3rd Street and Mountain Avenue for a motor vehicle accident. Two vehicle were involved and had moderate damage. The driver of a Chevy pickup was to be transported by TVEMS. Once the fluid spill was cleaned up and Larimer Cty Sheriff had finished their investigation, all units cleared scene.
Berthoud Engine 16 was dispatched to a permitted field burn that got out of control. The crew put out the fire and turned the property back over to the homeowner.
Berthoud Squad 11 responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.
BFPD responded to the 200 block of Iowa Avenue for a trash fire in the alley behind a house. Engine 16 suppressed the fire with a hose line. No other structures or materials were involved other than the trash cans and their contents.
Berthoud Fire responded to the Park-N-Ride for a sick person. The crew found a 45-year-old male conscious and breathing. TVEMS assumed patient care.
Monday, March 27
BFPD responded to the 400 block of Bimson Avenue for a gasoline leak. A small amount of gasoline leaking from a Mustang. The crew was able to stop the gasoline leak and spread absorbent to pick up the spill.
Berthoud Engine 16 was called to a reported tree on fire in a field in the 2200 block of Brehm Road. The crew put out the fire with a small attack line.
Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 1100 block of Shelby Drive for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care and the crew assisted with packaging the patient for transport.
Tuesday, March 28
Berthoud Fire Squad 11 responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.
BFPD was dispatched to the 100 block of SW 49th Street for a person with breathing problems. Command was transferred to TVEMS.
Wednesday, March 29
Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 200 block of Wilfred Road for a lift assist.
Friday, March 31
Berthoud Engine 1 responded to the 1600 block of Alpine Avenue for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care. The crew helped package the patient for transport.
BFPD was dispatched to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.
Saturday, April 1
Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 3400 block of S. Cty Road 13 for a medical. Command was turned over to TVEMS.
Berthoud Fire responded to the Berthoud Living Center for a medical.
