teachers for Thompson School District arrived at Mountain View High High School for a day of orientation on Thursday. The morning began with an introduction to the Thompson Education Association, the local teacher’s union and continued with district staff.
Berthoud will be getting ten new teachers and a part time school nurse this year.

Jennifer Preusse will be teaching all day Kindergarten at Ivy Stockwell Elementary School. Preusse has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Colorado. She has nine years experience teaching elementary grades in Texas and Colorado.
Donna Conde will be school nurse for Ivy Stockwell Elementary, Monroe Elementary and New Vision Charter Schools. Conde is an RN with a bachlor’s degree in nursing. She has previously been a school nurse in Missouri
Lindsey Hastings will be teaching Speech and Language Therapy at Ivy Stocwell and Stansberry Elementary Schools. Hastings has a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and has practiced individual and group therapy for children age 3 to 13.
Joe Zappa will be teaching 7th grade Social Studies and Literacy at Turner Middle School. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from California State University, Fullerton.
Lindsey Sanzolone will be teaching Family and Consumer Services, Early Childhood, Interior Design, Foods, Life Management and Teen Choices at Berthoud High School. Sanzolone received her degree from Colorado State University and did her student teaching at Loveland High School.
Eugene Hardesty will serve as Guidance Counselor at Berthoud High School. Hardesty has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from U.S. International University and a master’s degree in school counseling from the University of LaVerne. He has fourteen years experience as a guidance counselor in California.
Jeremy Pett will be teaching Industrial Technology at Berthoud and Mountain View High Schools. He holds degrees from Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. He previously taught for ten years at Northridge High School.
