Berthoud Teen missing in Rawah Wilderness

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office reports that Spencer has been found safe. More details to follow. On July 14, 2022, at approximately 1:53PM, searchers located Spencer Hallman, tired and dehydrated, but otherwise safe. He is being escorted out of the wilderness area on horseback by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Posse. Berthoud High graduate Gabriel Conde killed in action

By Hans Peter Reporter-Herald Staff Writer A Berthoud High School graduate was killed in action Monday while serving in Afghanistan, weeks before his unit's deployment in the country was scheduled to end. The U.S. Department of Defense announced Tuesday that Spc. Gabriel D. Conde, 22, died of small arms fire in the Tagab District while supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel, according to a release from the department. The incident is still under investigation,

Berthoud Fire gives away scooters

    Berthoud Fire loves giving back to its community. One of the ways it does that is to have a kid's bicycle giveaway every year. At this year's Berthoud Oktoberfest instead of bicycles the Fire District gave away two Razor scooters and helmets. One of the winners is their new friend Oliver Groeneman who is 10-years-old. The other recipient was a 4-year-old girl who was so excited to get her scooter home that, unfortunately, she didn’t get her photo taken.

Town of Berthoud to Spray for Mosquitoes

Based on high levels of infected Culex mosquitoes trapped in Berthoud last week, the Town of Berthoud hopes to decrease the risk of human West Nile virus (WNV) infection by spraying for mosquitoes.  The Town of Berthoud will be doing adult mosquito control on Wednesday August 30 and Thursday August 31, weather permitting.
