Big changes coming for Berthoud’s Pioneer Park

The Parks and Open Space Committee meeting last week opened with a presentation P.J. DiPentino. He introduced Alan Wasson, who will be taking over as the director for the BMX track. DiPentino came to ask the committee to recommend some level of support from the town for track maintenance. He described the benefits of the track for the town and the number of hours he spent marinating the track. Obituaries: Robert Roark, Verda Silbaugh

Robert Thomas Roark Robert “Bob” Thomas Roark died on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009. He was 73 years old. Born on April 22, 1935, in Rock Falls, Ill., Roark was the son of Jeanette (Andrews) and Howard Roark. He married Mary Jo Wright on Nov. 25, 1954, in Princeton, Ill. The couple then moved to Colorado in 1957. Roark owned and operated Longmont Signs and Decals from 1964 to 1976, and then served as pastor of Tri-Town Baptist Church until his retirement from full-time ministry in 1993. He spent ... Mobleys to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

Lloyd and Linda Mobley will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Feb. 19, 2009. They met at Azars Big Boy Restaurant in Denver where they both worked. They were married in 1969 in Redondo Beach, Calif. at the home of Lloyd’s mother, Dorothy. Before settling in Berthoud, they also lived in Denver, Alamosa, Loveland, California and Oregon. (more…)

Obituaries: Kay Carter, Donna Klump

Kay A. Carter Kay Adele Carter of Berthoud, passed away at McKee Medical Center Hospice Care Center on Feb. 12, 2009. She was 69 years old. Born to Chester Ellenberger and Viola Smith Ellenberger in Grand Island, Neb. on Dec. 18, 1939, she grew up in Fort Collins, graduating from Fort Collins High School in 1958. Carter worked as a secretary/paralegal for over 18 years in Berthoud and served on the planning commission for Larimer County. Besides her love for law, she equally loved her family. ... Full Story
