Berthoud High School Play Premiers Thursday Night   By Thomas N.   The Berthoud High School drama department will premiere a production of The Wonderful Wizard of OZ on Thursday April 14. The play is an adaptation the book by L. Frank Baum and looks to be a good time with many experienced actors. Lady Spartans Place Sixth in Mountain View League Meet By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer It was on a cool, cloudy and at times rainy Loveland Olde Course on Wednesday afternoon where the Berthoud High girls golf team competed in their second tournament of the season.     Derek Gwin, a 2010 graduate of Berthoud High School recently graduated from Air Force basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Airman Gwin completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. The Lady Spartans finished with a team score of 339 strokes, good enough for only 20th place in the 23-team Skyline Invite. Marie Elise Andrade Allison was selected as Berthoud High School’s recipient of Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award for 2011. The Namaqua Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) presented awards to several area students at its February 9 Student Recognition Tea.
