Blue Sky Trail Head Opens to the Public on July 25
Larimer County Natural Resources is proud to announce the opening of the Blue Sky Trail Head on Friday, June 25, 2010. The new trail head will be a jumping off point to over 75 miles of regional trails, including Lory State Park, Coyote Ridge Natural Area, Horsetooth Mountain Open Space, Blue Sky Trail, and Devils Backbone Open Space. Morrison Trail at the Devil’s Backbone Open Space
The Morrison Trail, the newest trail at the Crowder Area of the Devil’s Backbone Open Space, is now open to the public. This 1 ¼-mile round-trip natural surface trail provides access for hikers and wheelchair users (although an assistant is recommended) at the south end of the existing Devil’s Backbone Open Space Trailhead. The trail was constructed in Spring 2010, by the Larimer County trail staff on an 11.8-acre parcel donated by the Crowder Family in memory of their son Russell. ... Full Story
