Cleo Mae “Billie” (Amick) Von Riesen, 100 was born on March 18, 1916 to Ebeline (Wright) and John Amick in Fort Morgan, Colorado. She grew up in Fort Morgan and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1934. Her love was music and she played and taught the violin in the community. She attended Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri for 2 years. Billie married Gerhard Von Riesen on April 5, 1940 at Ensign United Presbyterian Church.   Gary Ray Brack, 65, of Berthoud, passed away January 2, 2012 after a valiant eight-month battle with glioblastoma cancer. Gary was born to Ray and Betty Brack on October 26, 1946 in Great Bend, Kansas Gary grew up in Fort Morgan, Colorado and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1964. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966, and served in Fort Lewis, Washington. He married Janet Isert, his first wife, in September of 1967. Spartans win third in a row with late touchdown By Dan Karpiel Sports Writer The Berthoud Spartan football team made their second trip of the season to the eastern plains on Friday night for a contest with the Fort Morgan Mustangs at Legion Field.
