Friday, April 1

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at I-25 MM 253, involving two vehicles in a rear end type collision. Two parties were checked for injuries by BFPD. Upon arrival TVEMS completed patient care. No patients were transported. Command was terminated.

BFPD responded to a medical call on 3rd Street. BFPD assisted TVEMS with the patient, patient was then transported.

Saturday, April 2

BFPD was called to 205 2nd Street for smoke in the house of a prior fire. The fire crew investigated using the thermal camera; no hot spots or signs of residual heat or smoke were found. The crew then made a second sweep of the home and again, no smoke or hot spots were found.

BFPD was requested to respond for a medical in a moving car on Interstate I 25 by CSP. While enroute to the location CSP advised to cancel.

BFPD was dispatched to a medical call on I-25. The report had come in as a male, standing next to his car on the side of the road, almost falling.  Responding to the location BFPD and TVEMS were unable to locate any parked vehicles or people in the area.

BFPD responded to a medical request at the Berthoud Living Center. BFPD assisted with patient information and loading of the patient. Patient was transported by TVEMS.

BFPD responded to a concerned citizen call about  an unattended bon fire on Gunn Ave. BFPD found that an earlier burn with a burn permit had flamed back up. BFPD extinguished the fire and made contact with the resident informing them to be cautious and make sure all fires are fully extinguished.

BFPD responded to a medical call at Berthoud Living Center. BFPD assisted TVEMS.

April 3, Sunday

BFPD responded to medical at 855 Franklin Ave.

BFPD responded to a grass fire on S. County Road 2E. A one-acre grass fire was found threatening farm equipment. The fire was extinguished and the farm equipment was undamaged. BFPD stayed on scene to ensure the fire was fully out.

Monday, April 4

BFPD was dispatched to a medical call on I-25 mm 250 SB. Engine 1 was requested to meet a Greyhound bus for a male having an anxiety attack. TVEMS was met by the bus driver and the male was quickly transported.

Tuesday, April 5

BFPD responded to Apple Leaf Assisted Living to reports of a smoke alarm going off. While enroute the crew received word that it was a false alarm. Engine 1 arrived and confirmed that there was no emergency in the building and verified that the alarm had been reset.

BFPD was called to the 300 block of 4th Street for a report of a possible stroke. The crew met with Larimer County Sheriff Deputies who had done a welfare check and found a woman on the floor. BFPD assisted TVEMS.

Wednesday, April 6

BFPD was dispatched to the 700 block of Wilfred Road for a lift assist.

A homeowner on 4th Street requested assistance in changing her smoke detector batteries. The crew met with her and changed the batteries in the CO detector and 3 other detectors in the home.

BFPD responded to the 200 block of Mountain Avenue for a PD medical request. The crew found a male who stated he had swallowed a bag of meth. TVEMS took over patient care.

Thursday, April 7

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a fall victim. The crew found the resident sitting on the floor with a nurse holding a towel to his head. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.

Friday, April 8

Berthoud Fire responded with TVEMS to the 7000 block of Alpine Sky for a patient who was having a convulsion. BFPD assisted TVEMS with patient care.

BFPD responded to the 3000 block of Huppe Lane for an 80-year-old woman with shortness of breath. TVEMS arrived and took over patient care.

BFPD responded to Hwy 287 and White Water Court for a single car accident. There was a vehicle in the middle of a field, with minor damage. The driver was injured, no hazards on the vehicle. BFPD waited with driver for Colorado State Patrol, scene was then turned over.

Saturday, April 9

BFPD responded to the 2000 block of County Road 29 for a woman with breathing problems. TVEMS arrived and took over patient care.

BFPD responded to the 4000 block of Meining Road for a burn that had gotten out of the ditch. No structures were threatened. This burn was a cooperative effort of several homeowners to burn the ditches that provide water to all the different properties. Although the fire was not completely out of control they welcomed our assistance in helping to extinguish the fire that was creeping in the fields.

BFPD responded to a medical at Berthoud Living Center and assisted TVEMS with patient care. .

BFPD responded to the 1000 block of Maple Drive for a 40-year-old male having seizures. BFPD assisted TVEMS with the patient, patient was then transported.

Monday, April 11

BFPD responded to the 900 block of 6th Street for a medical call. TVEMS took over patient care.

Tuesday, April 12

BFPD responded to the Berthoud Gun Club for a 79-year-old male feeling dizzy. BFPD assisted TVEMS with patient care.

Wednesday, April 13

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a sick person.

BFPD was called to Garden Grove Drive for a medical call. The Squad and TVEMS located a woman sitting in her car. BFPD assisted TVEMS with the patient, patient was then transported..

Thursday, April 14

BFPD was dispatched to a grass/Wildland fire at WCR 38 and WCR 3. Dispatch advised that Weld County Sheriff’s office was on scene, and that it was a controlled burn. Engine 13 continued to scene to discuss proper notification of controlled burns with the property owner.

Friday, April 15

BFPD was dispatched to the 2000 block of Alpine Sky Drive for a male having chest pains. TVEMS arrived and took over patient care.

BFPD responded to the 600 block of Lake Avenue for a law enforcement assist. Upon arrival the crew assisted Larimer County Sheriff.

Station 1 received a phone call for a residence with a CO alarm activating. Engine 1 was enroute to the 100 block of Welch Avenue. The homeowner invited BFPD personnel into a small single story home heated by a ventless natural gas fireplace. Gas monitors showed no elevated readings and inspection of the detector showed that it was in need of replacement. BFPD encouraged the homeowner to leave a window cracked when using the ventless fireplace and to purchase a new alarm as soon as possible.

Monday, April 18

BFPD responded to the 2000 block of Martingale Drive for a medical. TVEMS took over patient care.

Tuesday, April 19

BFPD was dispatched to the 1000 block of Arapaho Drive for a citizen assist. The homeowner needed assistance in changing a smoke detector on a vaulted ceiling. The crew replaced the battery and checked to ensure it was working properly.

Wednesday, April 20

BFPD responded to 4th and Lake Street for a motor vehicle that had hit an 11-year-old boy on a scooter. The boy had a deep laceration on his foot and was attended to by TVEMS.

BFPD responded to the 300 block of Wark Avenue for a medical. Assisted TVEMS with patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to the 700 block of Wilfred Road for a female needing assistance in getting back into bed. The crew was able to place her back into bed. She was checked for injuries, none were found.

Thursday, April 21

BFPD and TVEMS were called to Hwy 287 for a passenger of a motor vehicle who was having chest pains. TVEMS arrive and took over patient care.

Friday, April 22

BFPD was dispatched to 600 block of Larimer Cty Rd 27E for a medical call. TVEMS took over patient care

Engine 1 was requested to be a part of the Prom Impact event at Berthoud High School. Engine 1 was requested to act in the role of the first arriving unit at a simulated auto crash. E1 coordinated the emergency management service and Fire portion of the exercise and was able to demonstrate to the students in attendance the process of responding to and mitigating an emergence scene.

Saturday, April 23

Berthoud Fire was called to I-25 mm 251 SB for a four-car motor vehicle accident. Colorado State Patrol and TVEMS were on scene. There were no injuries.

BFPD responded to 3000 block of Larimer Cty Rd 31 for a single motorcycle down. TVEMS took over patient care.

Sunday, April 24

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical call. The nursing staff stated the patient had collapsed. The crew assisted TVEMS with patient care.

Monday, April 25

BFPD responded to the 100 block of Welch Avenue for a medical. TVEMS arrived and assumed patient care.

BFPD responded to the 1400 block of 4th Street for a person that had fallen. TVEMS took over patient care.

Wednesday, April 27

Squad 11 was dispatched to Berthoud Living Center for medical call.

BFPD responded to the 1700 block of 4th street for a female having a seizure disorder. TVEMS arrived and assumed patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to a law enforcement assist to the 400 block of Nebraska Avenue. A heavy forklift was on its side leaking diesel fuel. Squad 11 arrived and began mitigation for the leaking diesel and hydraulic fluid by placing 5 gallon buckets under the dripping containers. The scene was turned over to Larimer County Sheriff.

BFPD and TVEMS responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident on I-25 mm 248 SB. The cars had moderate damage and all parties were out of the vehicles. The crew assisted Colorado State Patrol with clearing the roadway of cars.

BFPD responded to the 4000 block of S. County Road 31 for a male that had fallen and hit his head on a rock. TVEMS arrived on scene and assumed patient care.

Thursday, April 28

BFPD responded to the 1300 block of 4th Street for a medical. TVEMS arrived and took over patient care.

Friday, April 29

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Berthoud Living Center for a medical.

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 249 SB for a two-vehicle traffic accident. The vehicles were found with moderate damage and all parties out of the vehicles. Engine 1 provided protection for the scene while the troopers were investigating.

Saturday, April 30

Berthoud Fire responded to the 400 block of Mountain Avenue for a person who had fainted. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD responded to Hwy 287 for a coolant leak. The crew poured absorbent on the spill.

Berthoud Fire responded to I-25 mm 250 SB for a two-car motor vehicle accident. The cars had light damage with no hazards or injuries.

BFPD responded to 500 block of South View for a medical assist. The crew assisted TVEMS with lifting a patient back into bed.

Sunday, May 1

BFPD responded to Buehler Acres for a medical call. The patient was in her car on the side of the road. Larimer County Sheriff was on scene. TVEMS took over patient care.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Berthoud Living Center for a medical call.
