Sunday, May 1

BFPD responded to Buehler Acres for a medical call. The patient was in her car on the side of the road. Larimer County Sheriff was on scene. TVEMS took over patient care.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Berthoud Living Center for a medical call.

Monday, May 2

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Berthoud Living Center for a medical. TVEMS assumed patient care when they arrived.

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for another medical event.

BFPD assisted Loveland Fire with a dive rescue at Boedecker Lake.

Tuesday, May 3

BFPD responded to 15000 block of S. Hwy 287 for a single vehicle rollover. The vehicle was on its wheels with heavy damage. TVEMS assumed patient care, Colorado State Patrol finished up their investigation.

Wednesday, May 4

BFPD responded to the 3000 block of Ranch Road for a CO detector that kept going off BFPD checked the CO detector and discovered it had expired. BFPD advised the homeowner that the CO detector needed to be replaced.

BFPD assisted a walk in patient experiencing chest pain. TVEMS was dispatched to Station 1 and took over the patient care.

Thursday, May 5

Fire Marshal Bruner asked a crew to respond to the 300 block of 8th Street to check the homeowners CO detector. BFPD found the detector was out of date and this was causing the beeping of the detector every 30 seconds. The crew advised the homeowner to get a new CO detector.

BFPD responded to the 2000 block of Shore Side Drive for a medical dall. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD responded to CO alarm on N. 83rd Ave. This was a false alarm.

Friday, May 6

BFPD responded to a fire alarm at a preschool at 7th Street and Bunyan Ave. The alarm ad been activated due to nearby sunscreen spraying. The alarm panel was reset and the crew returned to service.

BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a patient who had fallen on E. Nebraska. The patient care was transferred to TVEMS and the patient was transported. The fire crew noticed two smoke detectors in the residence were nonfunctional. The crew replaced batteries in the detectors before leaving.

BFPD responded to a reported residential structure fire on Caballero Street. The crew found a structure with no signs of fire. Inside they found light smoke and found a hot oven that was smoking but was not on fire. The responsible party explained that the oven had exploded while they were cooking. The gas was disconnected, the stove moved to the garage and an investigator was called to respond.

BFPD responded to a request for emergency care at the Berthoud Living Center. TVEMS assumed the patient care. With assistance from the crew the patient was transported.

Saturday, May 7

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 25 at mile marker 249. This was a single vehicle that had run into the guard rails. There were no reported injuries.

Sunday, May 8

BFPD responded to a medical call on 2nd Street at the request of Berthoud Police. TVEMS assumed the patient care.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a traumatic injury on W. CR 8E. The patient had sustained a head wound. TVEMS responded and took over the patient care.

BFPD responded to a medical call for a person with breathing problems on Horseshoe Circle. Upon arrival of TVEMS it was determined that the patient needed to be hospitilized. The crew assisted with loading the patient.

BFPD responded with TVEMS and Berthoud Police for a medical call on 2nd St. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded with TVEMS to a medical call on 4th Street. The patient was transported.

Monday, May 9

BFPD responded to Larimer County Road 2 for a single-vehicle accident. A car had missed the turn and ran through a gate. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to 850 Spartan Avenue for a medical emergency. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD responded to Hwy 287 for a two-car motor vehicle accident. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Tuesday, May 10

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to E. Michigan Avenue for a medical assist. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a medical dispatch.

BFPD was dispatched to the 300 block of Victoria Street for a CO detector malfunctioning. The CO detector had a faulty battery. Berthoud Squad 11 changed the battery and resolved the issue.

BFPD responded to the 700 block of Wilfred Road for a lift assist.

Wednesday, May 11

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 250 NB for a two-car motor vehicle accident. Two vehicles had moderate damage with one vehicle on its side. This was a non- injury accident and Colorado State Patrol was on scene.

Thursday, May 12

BFPD responded to the 200 block of Bein Street for a medical call. BFPD assisted TVEMS.

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 248 SB for a two-car motor vehicle accident. One of the vehicles was in the center median, the other vehicle on the right shoulder. All parties were out of the vehicles with no injuries. The crew blocked the scene for Colorado State Patrol until the vehicle was loaded onto tow truck.

Friday, May 13

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Larimer County Road 8 for a motor vehicle accident. There was a minivan with driver’s door damage and a motorcycle in the field. TVEMS assumed patient care and command was transferred to Larimer County Sheriff.

BFPD responded to the 300 block of Massachusetts for a medical.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to 3000 block of S. Larimer County Road 31 along with TVEMS for a 57 year old who had been stung by a wasp. BFPD assisted TVEMS.

Monday, May 16

BFPD was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Michigan to assist a citizen assist in changing a smoke detector battery.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 800 block of Franklin Avenue for a medical problem. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Tuesday, May 17

BFPD was requested by Larimer Cty Sheriff to respond to the 21000 block of Weld Cty Road 7. The crew assisted occupants of a single vehicle accident away from downed power lines. Poudre Valley REA was notified of the crash and downed power pole.

Wednesday, May 18

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Berthoud Living Center for a medical problem.

BFPD responded to the 600 block of Candice Court for a male who had cut his leg with a grinder. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Thursday, May 19     

BFPD was dispatched to the 800 block of Welch Avenue to assist a homeowner in changing a smoke detector battery.

BFPD responded to the 1400 block of 4th Street for a female having difficulty breathing. BFPD assisted TVEMS with patient care.

Berthoud Fire were requested to standby for Larimer Cty Sheriff who was in pursuit of a suspect who had been tazed and escaped. Berthoud Station 1 was inside of the perimeter established by K9 dog units searching the neighborhood so the crew remained in quarters. After a period of time searching, the incident commander released BFPD.

Friday, May 20

BFPD responded to the 700 block of Wilfred Road for a medical.

BFPD was dispatched to the 400 block of 8th Street for a citizen assist. The homeowner needed assistance in changing batteries in his smoke detectors.

BFPD responded to City Star Brewery for a citizen assist. A fork lift was stuck in the dirt in the back of the brewery. Engine 16 and the City Star brewers lifted the fork lift with a bottle jack.

Saturday, May 21

BFPD responded to County Road 6C for a single motorcycle accident with injuries. TVEMS took over patient care.

Sunday, May 22

BFPD responded to Larimer Cty Road 31 for a single motorcycle accident. The crew found the rider in the ditch suffering with lower back pain and a knee injury. TVEMS took over patient care.

Monday, May 23

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Berthoud Living Center for a medical assist.

BFPD had a walk in at Station 1. A 9-year-old boy was having an allergic reaction. TVEMS assumed patient care.

Tuesday, May 24

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical assist.

Wednesday, May 25

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to Berthoud Living Center for a medical assist.

BFPD responded to Hwy 56 for 3 vehicles involved in a T-bone/head-on motor vehicle accident. All vehicles had moderate damage with no injuries to the occupants. All parties were out of the vehicles. Two power poles were broken, but the lines were not arcing.

Thursday, May 26

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 252 NB for a 2-car motor vehicle accident. One vehicle was in the median with heavy rear end damage. The second vehicle was also in the median with heavy front end damage and one person pinned inside. After extrication was completed, TVEMS took over patient care and the accident scene was turned over to Colorado State Patrol.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 4700 block of East View Drive for a medical assist.

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 249 NB for a semi-truck that was on fire. The engine compartment and cab were fully involved. Berthoud Engine 1 and Berthoud Engine 6 deployed lines and conducted a fire attack from the front of the semi. Once the fire was knocked down, command was terminated.

Friday, May 27

BFPD responded to a medical assist call in the 2700 Block of Martingale Dr.

BFPD responded to a medical call on City Lights Lane where they assisted TVEMS with patient Care.  Patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a medical call on 2nd Street, assisted TVEMS with patient care, the patient was transported.

Saturday, May 28th

BFPD responded to a medical call on City Lights Lane and began patient care until TVEMS arrived. The patient was transported.

BFPD Dive Rescue responded to a rescue call on the Big Thompson River.  The party was found safe and BFPD was cancelled enroute.

BFPD responded to a citizen assist on Mount Meeker Avenue for an irrigation line break.  The Town of Berthoud was contacted and they shut the main valve down.

Sunday, May 29

BFPD responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident on Larimer County Road 23E, no injuries involved. BFPD found a Backhoe in a ditch and no people on the scene.  CSP was contacted and the incident was turned over to them.

BFPD responded to a citizen requesting assistance on 13th Street. BFPD assisted the citizen.

BFPD responded to a motorcycle accident with injuries, on S. County Road 31.  BFPD assumed patient care until TVEMS arrived. The patient was transported.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident at MM-253 on I-25.  Cancelled enroute.

BFPD responded to a medical call on Victoria St. TVEMS arrived and took over patient care.

BFPD responded to a medical assist on E. Nebraska.  Patient care was transferred to TVEMS.

Monday, May 30

BFPD responded to I-25 mm 249 NB for a motor vehicle accident. A tractor-trailer had rear ended a Honda civic causing heavy damage and injury. Patient care was turned over to TVEMS, BFPD assisted with packaging of patient for transport.

Berthoud Fire responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a sick person. TVEMS assumed patient care.

BFPD was dispatched to 1400 block of Oak Street for a residential structure fire. There was a working fire in an attached garage, with flames visible and chemicals reportedly involved. The interior living space of the structure charged with smoke but had no visible fire. Engine 2 was assigned to pull a line attack to the interior of the structure for a primary search and to check for fire extension. TVEMS and Larimer Cty Sheriff Deputies confirmed with the residents that the home was evacuated and all parties that lived in the home were accounted for. The garage was found to have housed a small woodworking shop, and was used for general storage of personal items. No vehicles were being stored in the garage at the time of the fire. The fire was able to be confined to the garage with moderate to heavy smoke damage throughout the interior of the structure. Speaking with the residents, it was stated that they believed the fire may have been started by rags used to apply flammable wood finishes which were left in a bucket at the exterior of the garage door. Gas and electric to the structure were shut-off. After the fire investigation was completed and the restoration company arrived the scene was turned back over to the property owners.

BFPD responded to Berthoud Living Center for a medical assist.

Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 600 block of 6th Street for a citizen assist. The homeowner needed assistance in changing a smoke detector battery. The BFPD crew replaced the battery and checked to ensure the detector was working properly.

Tuesday, May 31

BFPD responded to a 2-car motor vehicle accident on County Road 8. TVEMS arrived and reported minor damage to both cars. There were no injuries and no fluids in the roadway. Engine 1 was cancelled and the scene was turned over to Larimer County Sheriff.

BFPD was dispatched to Sprague Avenue for a male who had fallen and had cuts to his face. Colorado State Patrol was on scene. The crew assisted TVEMS with packaging the patient for transport.
