  Berthoud Police Beat — April/May, 2011   Friday, April 1 Police came across an abandoned vehicle on Highway 56 near I-25 at 12:52 a.m. The vehicle appeared to be inoperative. The Joe to Go building was shot with paint balls sometime during the previous night. The alarm turned out to be a false alarm. BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on I-25 at MM 252.   People who drive past Riverglenn on County Road 17 are usually treated to the sight of a pair of swans swimming in Treena and Dave Milano’s pond. This week however, the swans are usually sequestered in their enclosure. The reason, on Tuesday the pen hatched three of the five eggs in her clutch and Milano was worried that the foxes and coyotes that frequent the area might find the cygnets a tasty meal.
