It was a beautiful day and everything seemed to go off smoothly. From the pancake breakfast to the evening shows, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Fatal accident east of Berthoud

Update June 4. The investigating officers of the Colorado State Patrol have concluded that the pickup truck crossed into the eastbound lane in front of the empty cement truck. The driver of the pickup was Travis McPherson, 20, of Loveland. The driver of the cement truck was Edward Brown, 59, of Johnstown. Brown suffered a broken rib in the accident. At 11:52 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, Berthoud Police, Weld County Sheriff and Colorado State Patrol received calls about an accident on Highway 56 ... Full Story

Berthoud Fire Protection District  Incident Activity for May Monday, May 3 BFPD had a medical Assist on Michigan Avenue. Patient was transported. Tuesday, May 4 BFPD responded to a power line down/arcing, nothing was found on arrival. Wednesday, May 5 BFPD was cancelled en route to a MVA on the interstate. RV fire endangers house in Blue Mountain

Shortly after 5 p.m. on May 31, Berthoud fire responded to 4529 West County Road 4 where they found a motor home with the front engulfed in flames. The motor home was parked in the vicinity of the log home but the crew from Station #2 managed to keep the fire contained. However, It was not until another unit arrived from Station #1 to assist that fire fighters were able to extinguish the flames. There was a chill in the air and the wind was blowing a bit, but the Berthoud High School graduation ceremony was blessed with a bright sunny day, matched the attitude of the graduates and their families. The graduates make their walk from the school building to the stadium. New this year was the addition of teachers in the procession. Realities for Children Poker Run comes to Berthoud

Fickel Park will be seeing 3,000 motorcyclists on Sunday, May 30. It is all part of the Realities for Children motorcycle rally and poker run. There will be music and refreshments and Berthoud folks are welcome to attend. Realities for Children is dedicated to serving the unmet needs of abused and neglected children in Larimer County. The BHS Evening with the Arts The annual Evening with the arts was an exciting event with much to do. The Gymnasium was the center for the displayed visual arts while the other entertainment took place in he commons and the auditorium. Many of he displays are just that, displays of work done in class by sixth though twelfth graders.
