More fun!   This summer the Carter Lake Sailing Club, a long term partner with the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources, will again provide three fun-filled weekends for 10-to-16-year-olds to sail on beautiful Carter Lake. Recreating at your local parks and open spaces just got easier. The new Larimer County Department of Natural Resources Recreation Map is available. Larimer County Wood Collection Yards Opening Dates

  Larimer County, Colorado - The Larimer County Woody Biomass Collection/Sort Yards are set to open. Evacuation Area Open to Residents at 10:00 a.m.

Date:        April 6, 2011 Residents that left their homes last night as part of the precautionary evacuation will be allowed to return to their homes this morning at 10:00 a.m.  Deputies will reopen the roads to residents only beginning at 10:00 a.m.  The current roadblocks will continue to operate for the foreseeable future. Precautionary Evacuation Recommended north and south

Date:   April 5, 2011 At approximately 6:25 p.m. this evening, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office issued a telephone notification to residents along Moondance Way, Red Tail Ridge Way and Stringtown Gulch Road to evacuate the area.   In addition, residents along Lightning Ridge Way, Ohana Way, Deer Path St. and the lower portion of Wildsong Rd. have been contacted to evacuate. Larimer County Adopts Fire Restrictions on Open Fires Larimer County, Colorado – The Board of Larimer County Commissioners today adopted fire restrictions on Open Fires and Fireworks beginning immediately and continuing through May 5, 2011.  Today’s restrictions are based on a recommendation from Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith who says it is unusual to put these restrictions in place this early in the year,  “We are waiting for moisture and for spring greening to occur.
