Greetings folks. Not a great deal to relate but some things of interest. First of all, people near the fire may continue to see smoke for sometime as the mop up process continues. That may be especially true today since we may undertake a burn out operation to secure some parts of the fire line – that is, taking away burnable fuel in a controlled manner which might otherwise might give us a problem. Given the condition of the fire and the progress made, that is very unlikely but we need to get this done 100%.
Other than that potential operation, there will be routine mop up and patrol today with some active containment work or line improvement as deemed necessary. One additional matter, we are planning a meeting between Larimer Co. and Forest Service officials, and groups like Red Cross and United Way, etc. and those residents who have been affected by this fire. We still don’t have confimation on when and where but we are looking at perhaps 6:30 p.m. on April 21 (Thursday). We will let you know where and the time scheduled as soon as possible and would ask those of you living in the area to try to get the word out to your neighbors. Thanks from Larimer County Emergency Management.
