Incident Activity for Dec. 29-Jan. 4

BFPD responded to the area of N. 83rd St. and Yellowstone Road for a mutual aid request from Hygiene Fire District for a fast moving grass fire. They arrived on scene and worked with Hygiene to extinguish the fire.
BFPD responded to a reported power line down in the area of Turner Middle School. Upon arrival they found a power pole that was leaning from the high winds. Xcel Energy was notified and responded.
BFPD responded to WCR 4 for a small grass fire. This was approximately a 10’ by 20’ fire, which was extinguished.
BFPD was notified of a tree that had fallen onto a home on Sixth St. There was some damage to the roof.
During a high volume of calls caused by high winds causing power outages, BFPD responded to a fire alarm at Berthoud Elementary. An HVAC motor had overheated and filled the mechanical room with smoke. The system was shut down and de-energized and the alarm was reset.
BFPD assisted a citizen on Third St. with their oxygen pump which had stopped, due to the power outage.

BFPD responded to a call on Willshire Dr. for smoke in the home coming from a faulty computer. Upon further investigation, no other sources of fire were found in the home.

BFPD responded to a motor vehicle accident when a truck pulling a trailer that had jack knifed on the Interstate @ mile marker 249. There were no injured occupants.
Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009
BFPD assisted TVEMS with a medical call at the Berthoud Living Center for a person having chest pain. The patient was transported.
BFPD assisted with a medical call for breathing problems and chest pain on Holmes Place. The patient was transported.
BFPD assisted with a medical call for seizures on Capital Ave. The patient was transported.
Friday, Jan. 2, 2009
BFPD was called to investigate a reported gas odor on 6th St. After investigation with a gas and leak detector there was nothing found. Xcel was notified for further investigation.
Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009
BFPD responded to a single car vehicle accident on I-25 @ mile marker 254. There was minor damage and no injuries.
