Main Street Station scheduled to open Friday, March 12

By Judy Lehn The folks at Main Street Station, formerly J.B. Clymer’s, are still doing fix-up, clean-up and repairs on their new digs at the former Abeyta’s, 335 Mountain Avenue.  Bob Nixon, co-owner along with his wife, Shari and his mother-in-law, Sharon Dowling, are creating a whole new restaurant.  The next item of business is new carpeting, with furniture soon to follow. They hope to open on Friday, March 12, with a grand opening scheduled later.

Leo Dick: September 10, 1921 – March 2, 2010 Leo Dick, 88, of Longmont, passed away March 2, 2010 at his home. He was born September 10, 1921 in Padroni, Colorado to Samuel and Elizabeth (Roah) Dick. He grew up on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 – 1945 during World War II and was honorably discharged as a Radioman Second Class. Berthoud Fire to perform hydrant flushing

Press Release BERTHOUD — Berthoud Fire Protection District crews will perform fire hydrant flushing starting 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday in the Little Thompson Water District outside the town of Berthoud. Flushing there will continue through March 10. Starting March 11, crews will flush hydrants inside Berthoud. According to Fire Marshal P. Michael Bruner, it is possible that sediment may be stirred up, causing brown water. He said residents should run a couple of faucets in their homes until the ... Full Story

Will this be Berthoud’s last snowman of the year? Addison and Wyatt Spear thought they might have a fun snowball fight with the snow remaining in Fickel Park. Their friend Cliff Worrel thought the snow packed so well that they could make a snowman. With Cliff’s help, Addison and Wyatt made three snowmen. You can see them in the park as long as the weather permits.

‘Cow Dung Dust’ – Reading at Sunrise

If you missed the reading of this latest Rick Padden play at the Berthoud Four Square Church, you have another opportunity this weekend. Sunrise Ranch west of Loveland will host a staged reading of "Cow Dung Dust" on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in the domed auditorium at the ranch, 100 Sunrise Ranch Road. Charles B. Pfab, 77, of Berthoud passed away February 11, 2010. He was born October 21, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Francis and Marie (Becker) Pfab. He attended St. Catherine’s Catholic School in Pittsburgh and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On February 17, 1960 he and Pauline Evans were married in Denver, Colorado.  She preceded him in death in 1984. “Cow Dung Dust”

“Cow Dung Dust,” is Rick Padden’s latest play. Padden is the playwright for Berthoud’s newest theater venture, The Moon Theater Company, and will perform a staged reading of his new play at the Berthoud Foursquare Church this Evening. The play is about a group of hitchhikers who get a ride in the back of a cattle truck driving along Route 66. The reading is at 7 p.m., Friday, February 5. The admission charge is $5.
