Town of Berthoud to Spray for Mosquitoes
Based on high levels of infected Culex mosquitoes trapped in Berthoud last week, the Town of Berthoud hopes to decrease the risk of human West Nile virus (WNV) infection by spraying for mosquitoes. The Town of Berthoud will be doing adult mosquito control on Wednesday August 30 and Thursday August 31, weather permitting. Dear Editor, I am a fifth generation Larimer County native, one generation removed from the cattle business. I am concerned about Berthoud’s unneeded Growth Management Area (GMA) expansions and annexations outside of existing GMA boundaries. Berthoud’s current GMA is over 24,000 acres in size. Berthoud currently has 10,712 lots in some type of planning review (enough for a population of well over 30,000 people). Berthoud residents need to remove snow
The Town of Berthoud would like to remind its citizens that they need to remove snow from the sidewalks within 24 hours from the time the snow stops. The following town ordinance applies: 15.12 of the ordinances of the Town of Berthoud: Removal of Snow and Ice. Santa Clause goes to school
The children at the Berthoud Early Learning Center had a surprise visitor this week. Santa came to the school twice on Wednesday, handing out gifts to the morning and afternoon classes. The children were definitely excited and happy to see Santa and to receive gifts. A gift for each child is made possible by the generosity of the employees of the town of Berthoud.
