R. Bruce Fickel, D.D. S., “Doc” as he was known to the Berthoud community, died on March 9, 2011, just three weeks prior to his 99th birthday. Doc was born in Edina, Missouri, the son of Lee A. and Charlotte Louise Harvey Fickel. He attended the University of Missouri for two years, after which he was employed as a social worker in the Knox County Welfare Department. Dr. Robert Bruce (Doc) Fickel, DDS March 30, 1912 – March 9, 2011 Berthoud lost one of its most beloved residents today when R. Bruce (Doc) Fickel died this morning (March 9) in Longmont United Hospital. Doc was born to Lee and Lottie Fickel in Edina, Missouri, on March 30 1912. Kenneth M. Kegerreis, wonderful husband, father and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Berthoud on Oct. 18, 2010, after an extended illness. Kenneth was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Hartford City, Ind., to Wayne and Lena Kegerreis. He went on to proudly serve in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956.
