New traffic signal at State Highway 56 and 4th Street

BERTHOUD— The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has completed a traffic signal upgrade project on State Highway 56 (Mountain Avenue) at Fourth Street in Berthoud. The project replaced the span wire traffic signal with poles and mast arms, which required crews to temporary remove the signal and put in stop signs. Limited Big Game Hunting at Red Mountain Open Space

For the first year, the fall of 2010, limited big game hunting will occur at Larimer County's Red Mountain Open Space. Hunting will be allowed by special access permit during the second and third combined rifle seasons (October 23 – 31, second combined season; November 6 – 14, third combined season). Update as of 12:50 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 7, 2010 The controversial artwork that was destroyed yesterday by a Montana woman is no longer on display at the Loveland Museum/Gallery.  The remaining portions of the piece were removed by police shortly after the incident and are being kept as evidence. Larimer County— Today, October 7, Colorado Senator Kevin Lundberg joined the family of Justin Bauer to designate a five-mile portion of State Highway (SH) 56 between I-25 and US 287 as the “Staff Sergeant Justin Bauer Memorial Highway.” The designation comes months after the Colorado Legislature passed a resolution to honor Staff Sergeant Justin Bauer of Berthoud, Colorado. This week a woman was sitting on a bus stop bench in downtown Loveland when a very intoxicated man approached and verbally attacked her with vile, ignorant language. The woman ran into the Alternatives to Violence office on Fourth Street with the man in pursuit, where he threatened and verbally attacked her and the staff.
