Monday, Aug. 31 BFPD responded to Beverly Drive for a reported vehicle fire. A truck was found in the open field with dry chemical extinguishment applied to the engine compartment. The fire was out upon arrival. The responsible party was soldering wires in the engine compartment which caused the fire. Tuesday, July 28 BFPD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Sixth Street. No evidence of carbon monoxide was detected. The alarm was activated due to a faulty alarm. Wednesday, July 29 BFPD responded to a commercial fire alarm at the Berthoud Living Center. There were no signs of fire and after investigation nothing was found. The alarm was reset. Monday, July 13 BFPD responded to a residence on Weld County Road 6 for a carbon monoxide detection alarm inspection. This alarm was due to a faulty detector. BFPD responded to a reported burn on County Road 21 and Martingale Drive. This was a controlled burn but the owner was asked to extinguish the fire due to high winds.
