Updated August 1, 2016 Berthoud Fire Protection District Incident Activity July 2016 Friday, July 1 Berthoud Engine 1 responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-25 mm 255. Engine 1 arrived and found a two-vehicle accident with moderate damage and all parties out of the vehicles. The crew stabilized the vehicles and assisted with traffic. Berthoud Fire was dispatched to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a sick person. Larimer County Sheriff's Office: Press release (June 12) On June 12, 2016, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office released a statement identifying the deceased female found in Mesa County as 18-year-old Ashley Marie Doolittle of Berthoud, Colorado. The coroner’s office determined the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was homicide. LCSO and the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate this case. At first light this morning, (June 10, 2016) members of Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services and Larimer County Search and Rescue responded to Lon Hagler Reservoir to conduct a land search of the area where Ashley Doolittle’s vehicle was found on June 9, 2016.
