It is not far from the bright star Spica. You will recognize Corvus for being near this star and for its boxy shape. May 3 to May 7 is Teacher Appreciation Week. The Thompson School District has several events that show teacher appreciation. Last week, the Thompson Education Association’s Crystal Apple Awards recognized some of the district’s outstanding teachers as nominated by their colleagues in the profession. Thursday, April 1 April Fool’s day was relatively calm as police received two BOLO reports, made three assists and made one traffic stop. The traffic stop was at Seventh Street and Bunyan Avenue and the driver was give a verbal warning. Friday, April 2 A driver stopped by police at 3 a.m. was give a verbal warning. The Thompson Education Association (TEA) gathered at Loveland’s Chilson Center on Friday afternoon for the ninth annual Crystal Apple Awards. This year 16 teachers were nominated by their peers for their teaching excellence. The awards are given by the TEA with financial assistance from Goodwin Financial and Horace Mann insurance.
