Visual Artist of the Year
The 2009 Open Lands Visual Artist of the Year, Diane Findley, will unveil several paintings inspired by Larimer County Open Spaces at a show entitled “Open Landscape Paintings” Friday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cache Bank and Trust at 100 S. College Ave., Fort Collins. The Bridge Between Show Choir continued the tradition of beginning the season with the Pairs and Spares at the Presbyterian Church. I am surprised they can still sing and dance after such a meal. Police Beat: Sept. 17, 2009
Tuesday, Sept. 8 A Beagle was found running loose in the 1400 block of Oak Drive. The dog had a collar with a Town license and a rabies tag, which enabled the police to deliver the dog to the owner on Third Street and issue him a summons. A Seventh Street resident reported that his 8-week old black and white puppy was missing. He did not know whether the puppy had gotten loose or had been stolen. The puppy was wearing a pink collar. BERT Chair Steps Down
By Shari Phiel Berthoud Recorder Perhaps the most salient announcement at the Tuesday, Sept. 14 Berthoud Economic Resource Team meeting came not at the beginning meeting but at the end. That announcement — Becky Justice Hemmann, who has served as the group’s chair since its formation in July 2008, was stepping down from the role. 'Bums of Berthoud' Rally for Alex Sabados

Short for the ''Bums of Berthoud," BOB is a tight knit group of blue collar heroes. Every year they migrate to an undisclosed location to come together to help a local charity. Police Beat: Sept. 10, 2009
Tuesday, Sept. 1 A resident of the 1000 block of Sixth Street made another call concerning weeds in a neighboring yard. A school bus driver reported hay in the turn lane at west County Road 8 and Highway 287. Police found nothing when they arrived 10 minutes later. Police responded to a barking dog call in the 1200 block of Cedar Avenue. There had been two priors at this location.
