Francis James Brandt, 89, of Berthoud, passed away Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 in Loveland, Colo. Brandt was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Moline, IL, to Frank and Anna Brandt and had a younger brother, George. They moved to the Louisville, Colo. area one year after his brother was born. He was raised farming in the area and, when World War II came along he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October of 1942. Nanna Elizabeth Banderet, age 92, of Berthoud, Colo., joined her beloved late husband Francis on Oct. 17, 2007. She was born Nanna Elizabeth Beveridge on the family farm near Sutherland, Neb., on March 22, 1915, to John Weir Beveridge and Margaret Elizabeth Beveridge (Vaughan). Nanna and Francis were married Feb. 9, 1940, in Kearney, Neb. They farmed south of Paxton, Neb., until their move to Colorado in 1955.
