Obituary: Charles B. Pfab
Charles B. Pfab, 77, of Berthoud passed away February 11, 2010. He was born October 21, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Francis and Marie (Becker) Pfab. He attended St. Catherine’s Catholic School in Pittsburgh and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On February 17, 1960 he and Pauline Evans were married in Denver, Colorado. Gloria J. Jansma, 66, of Loveland, CO went to her Lord on February 9, 2010, after a two-year battle with brain cancer; her family was by her side. Things I’ll miss about Tom Vaughan
Things I'll miss about Tom Vaughan: 1. His approachability. Tom always made time for whoever walked through the door in spite of what his schedule allowed. 2. His humble demeanor. Tom had a way of imparting his knowledge and experience in a manner that didn't leave one feeling sorry for having asked. 3. His expertise. Michael S. Patterson, 60, of Berthoud, Colorado died January 28, 2010 at Longmont United Hospital. He was born April 14, 1949 in Sheridan, Wyo. to Edward and Virginia (Wood) Patterson. February 19, 1942 – January 21, 2010 Doug Nichols, Ph. D., paleontologist and Berthoud resident, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 21, 2010, at the age of 67. Born in Jamaica, Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of Kenneth C. and Beatrice O. Nichols. Doug lived in Long Island, N.Y. and New Jersey while growing up. BERT chooses not to do business locally
Editorial Opinion by Gary Wamsley Continuing a policy of not supporting local business unless you are a member of the Berthoud Economic Resource Team (BERT), local web site developers were eliminated from consideration for building the BERT/Town web site. The contract for developing the un-needed but expensive web site will go to an out of town contractor.
