Susan LaVonne “Sue” Chapman, 65, passed away on March 17 at her home in Berthoud, Colorado. Sue was born January 10, 1959, in Greeley. She was the daughter of Corinne “LaVonne” and Charles M. Chapman. Sue lived most of her life in Colorado, where her loving heart compelled her unselfish and continuous support for her community. Two dogs confirmed with rabies
Make sure your pets are vaccinated DENVER—Two pet dogs have tested positive for rabies, one in Weld County and one in Yuma County. These are the first cases of rabies among dogs in Colorado since 2003, when a dog from Texas tested positive. The last time a dog was exposed and developed rabies in Colorado was 1974. Today the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced an interim strategy to help the agency respond to the anticipated occurrence of white-nose syndrome (WNS) on BLM-administered lands nationwide. Department of Public Health and Environment Thursday, Aug, 19, 2010 DENVER—So far in 2010, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Laboratory and Colorado State University Diagnostic Laboratory have confirmed rabies in 99 animals. According to state health officials, 34 skunks, 54 bats, seven foxes, one domestic cat, one horse, one mule deer and one muskrat have tested positive for rabies this year.
