House District 49 candidate Karen Stockley on NISP

Karen Stockley Candidate, House District 49 Berthoud, CO  Guest Commentary One of the biggest and most complex issues Colorado will be facing over the next 100 years is water. I’m Karen Stockley, candidate for State House District 49, responding to my opponent’s opinion piece glorifying the proposed Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP). I have studied this issue for many years, and I firmly believe the NISP project is one of the most damaging reservoirs ever proposed for Northern ... Full Story

Nikkel and Conway articles nearly identical

Nikkel and Conway articles nearly identical

By Gary Wamsley Since plagiarism seems to be rearing its ugly head, especially where it concerns water issues, I was quite surprised when I read Weld County Commissioner Sean Conway's Guest Commentary about NISP, which appeared in the Denver Post and thought it sounded quite familiar. I looked at the Guest Column submitted to this publication by House District 49 Representative B.J. Nikkel and noted that it was almost identical. Neither of these individuals has made any statement that these ... Full Story

Smith, true lawman and public servant

Smith, true lawman and public servant

I’ve been watching the Sheriff’s race with some interest over the last several months and I have to ask; who is this Constitutional Carl that recently arrived on the political scene? He simply espouses the kind of rhetoric that we’ve all come to expect from aspiring politicians over the years. Once you cut through the rhetoric, he appears to be just another ... Full Story
