 DURANGO, Colo. –Dogs chasing wildlife is nearly a constant problem in Colorado. The issue is particularly serious during the winter when dogs can easily rundown deer and elk in the snow and injure or kill them. So far this winter, wildlife officers in every corner of the state have filed reports of chasing incidents. Poaching Alert: Pinewood Lake and Boulder

    DENVER -- Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers are investigating two wildlife crimes in northeastern Colorado. In Pinewood Lake, a large bull elk was killed Thanksgiving night or early the next morning. The incident occurred off Larimer County Road 18E, just west of the intersection with James Park Trail. Obituary: Wilbur Austin Heiser

  Wilbur “Wil” Austin Heiser, 79, of Loveland died September 13, 2011 at his home. He was born January 15, 1932 near Charleston, Iowa to Andrew and Irma (Burghoffer) Heiser. Wil lived in Longmont from 1966 to 1984, he then moved to Loveland. On January 2, 1999 he married Treva Edwards. He worked as an air-traffic controller at the Longmont FAA Center for 30 years.
